Playa de las Arenas

Playa de las Arenas, also known as Playa Levante, is a beach in the Cabañal neighbourhood. It borders the Port of Valencia to the south and Malvarrosa beach to the north. Playa de las Arenas is famous for the old Balneario de Las Arenas, which gives it its name. It was built in 1934 in a Greek Revival style found nowhere else in the city, making it well worth a visit during your holiday in Valencia. It is now a luxury hotel, spa and wellness centre where you can banish the stress of everyday life.

The 1 km long Playa de las Arenas has fine, golden sand and is manned by lifeguards, making it perfect for a relaxing family day at the beach. Alongside it runs the Cabañal promenade, next to a traditional fishing neighbourhood with small, brightly coloured houses that has come to life thanks to bars and other trendy places to hang out, such as L’Arbre, La Paca, La Pascuala and La Fábrica de Hielo, alongside classic restaurants such as Casa Montaña.

The Cabañal neighbourhood also goes in for the Fallas in a big way and has another unique tradition of its own: a Sea-themed Easter Week. To enjoy this colourful experience firsthand, we recommend staying in one of our holiday rental apartments in Valencia by the beach.

Playa de la Malvarrosa

Playa de la Malvarrosa is undoubtedly the most famous beach in Valencia. Its name, shared by the beach and the local neighbourhood, dates back to when the marshland was developed in the 19th century. The area was planted with lots of mauve and pink geraniums, whose striking colours gradually gave their name to the neighbourhood and the beach. A few years later, the former fishing neighbourhood began to attract the well-to-do classes from the city. Writers such as Blasco Ibáñez and painters such as Joaquín Sorolla lived here and captured the atmosphere of the beaches and local residents.

If you rent a seaside apartment in Playa de la Malvarrosa in Valencia you’ll have a superb beach on your doorstep and will be able to soak up the local atmosphere in restaurants, bars and cafes. There are also lots of shops and a lively nightlife, especially in summer, when the seaside terraces stay open until late. Enjoy a delicious paella as you gaze out to sea or lick a tasty ice cream at sunset. The neighbourhood has everything you need for a perfect beach holiday.

The fine, golden sands of Playa de la Malvarrosa stretch out for almost 2 km. It is ideal for sunbathing, swimming, kitesurfing and many other beach sports, such as beach volleyball, thanks to its impressive 60 m width. Its services include lifeguards and a tourist information office. If you want to experience it for yourself, check out our apartments in Valencia in Playa de la Malvarrosa!

Playa de la Patacona and Playa de Portsaplaya

North of Malvarrosa is Playa de la Patacona, which belongs to the district of Alboraya, known for its plantations where tiger nuts are grown to make the delicious local drink, horchata valenciana. Make sure you try it once you’ve made yourself at home in your apartment in Valencia by the beach! Inland from this beach in Valencia is the beautiful Horta Nord, the fields and fertile, irrigated land to the north of Valencia. At Friendly Rentals, as specialists in holiday apartment rentals, we recommend you visit this area on foot or take a stunning bike ride.

The fine sands of Playa de la Patacona stretch out over 1 km. This quiet beach is ideal for unwinding and has all the necessary lifeguards, cafes and bars. Since you're in Alboraya, we definitely recommend trying some horchata valenciana at one of the famous horchaterías such as Casa Daniel, Horchatería Vida and Horchateria Panach.

At sunset, Playa de la Patacona undergoes a transformation as dozens of fishermen come to fish. If you like fishing, book accommodation in Valencia by the beach as this is the perfect place for it!

We also recommend visiting Portsaplaya, a quiet beach with fine, golden sand, parking and sports area. It stretches out over 475 m and is 45 m wide on average, making it the perfect place for couples. Head over to the residential area, known as the “little Valencian Venice” thanks to its inland lakes and lovely coloured buildings.

Playa de Pinedo

Playa de Pinedo is located to the south of the Puerto de Valencia, next to the mouth of the River Turia. Its proximity to the city makes it the perfect place to visit from one of our apartments in Valencia by the beach.

The lovely fine, golden sands of Playa de Pinedo spread out along 4.5 km, making it an ideal place for families looking for a quiet spot. There is also a nudist section, as well as lifeguards and beach bars where you can hire hammocks while you soak up the sun and take a refreshing dip in the sea. Pinedo is also famed for its excellent restaurants specialising in rice dishes, including La Genuina and L’Estibador.

Playa del Saler

Playa del Saler is located to the south of Playa de Pinedo and is bounded to the west by the lovely rice fields that lead to the amazing Albufera de Valencia, within the Parque Natural de la Albufera. As well as the lagoon, this natural park also includes one of the largest seaside Mediterranean forests in the whole of Spain. The fine sands of Playa del Saler stretch out over 5 km and the beach is 35 m wide on average. It isn’t too busy, making it ideal for families.

Head inland to the Bosque del Saler and visit the lake, where children can play in the open air while you spread out a picnic with family and friends!

Once you’ve booked your accommodation in Saler in Valencia, make sure you visit the Albufera lagoon for a lovely treat in these beautiful surroundings. Take a unique boat trip from the Gola del Pujol to the heart of the lagoon! You’ll see all kinds of local birds, such as herons, mallards and even flamingos, especially in spring. Yet another reason to come to the city and book one of the top holiday apartments in Valencia by the beach!

Saler also has several excellent traditional restaurants where you can try the local speciality, a fisherman’s stew known as allipebre, as well as different kinds of paellas and rice dishes.
