Every year the Seville Film Festival brings together the leading lights of European filmmaking and attracts film fans and culture vultures from all over the world. 

Over the last 15 years the Seville Film Festival has screened over 220 films, 117 Spanish premieres and 35 world premieres. It has welcomed a whole host of renowned actors and filmmakers, including Milos Forman, Kenneth Branagh, Agnès Varda, Bigas Luna, María de Medeiros, Christopher Lee, Nikita Mikhalkov, Antonio Banderas, Gianfranco Rosi, John Turturro, Carlos Saura and Colin Farrell, among many others. 

The festival is divided into different sections, including documentaries, short films, nonfiction cinema and previously unscreened feature films. You can also get the chance to meet filmmakers and catch screenings, exhibitions and concerts.

What to do in Seville during the Film Festival 

During the Seville Film Festival, make sure you take the time to discover Seville, whose history is crisscrossed by the three major monotheistic religions. Visit historic buildings inspired by Islamic, Christian and Jewish traditions, including La Giralda, La Catedral and El Alcázar. The city also boasts some striking modern architecture, including Plaza de Las Setas and the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo.
