Op loopafstand van het Chillida appartement liggen de oude stad, het San Telmo aquarium en de kabeltrein van Igueldo. Je kunt langs het strand wandelen en de beeldhouwwerken van de beroemde Eduardo Chillida bewonderen. Ook op loopafstand kun je de tuinen van het Paleis de Miramar inwandelen. Koningin Maria Cristina gebruikte dit paleis als haar zomerverblijf. Het gehele gebied rond het appartement is ontstaan in de 19de eeuw, heeft een romantische uitstraling en ongelooflijk goede restaurants waar je kunt genieten van de Baskische keuken.
Het appartement
Het Chillida appartement is in 2004 compleet gerenoveerd en modern ontworpen en ingericht. Het appartement ligt met zijn 60 m2 op de vijfde verdieping van een gebouw met lift. De lift is aangepast aan alle handicap reguleringen en het gebouw is ontworpen met marmeren en stalen accenten. De vloer en deuren van het appartement zijn van een hoge kwaliteit beukenhout.

It is one of the best and most quoted areas in San Sebastian, in this area lies the magnificent beach of Ondarreta, for some, the beast beach in town. Ondarreta beach area is known for being very animated and lively and is often considered an icon in which referes to autochthonous gastronomy. Only a few minutes away from this area is the center of the city´s old part, the aquarium, the museum of San Telmo and right by the funicular of mount Igeldo and the “Peine de los Vientos” with deceased Eduardo Chillida´s magnificent sculptures.
Here in the old part begins a tour of the most beautiful corners of the city enjoying the famous sculptures of deceased artist Eduardo Chillida. The waves guide us until we reach the beach of Ondarreta, walking through its gardens we arrive to the palace of Miramar where Queen Maria Cristina had her summer residence. The exit of this palace takes us to the beach of “La Concha”, taking a nice walk we pass by the aquarium, the old part and if we continue the walk we finally surround mount Urgull. It is an ideal place to verify the fury of the sea, continuing the circuit we get to Zurriola beach, very frequented by surfers. The end of the day can be passed in the bars of the area which are always very animated.
