Un subtil mélange de pièces rétro avec des objets plus contemporains
En donnant une seconde vie à tout un tas de meubles et objets rétro des années 50, le propriétaire en a fait un lieu en harmonie complète avec certains magasins très anciens de la ville basse, avec un clin d’œil tout particulier à Otra Face da Lua, une petite boutique fourmillant de vêtements, édition de papiers peints, chapeaux d’une autre époque et où il fait bon prendre un café ou encore un repas sur le pouce.
L’appartement:
Situé en plein milieu de la Rua Augusta, une des rues piétonnes les plus renommées de la ville, l’appartement Baixa Rétro se trouve au 2ème étage (sans ascenseur) d’un immeuble typique de la Baixa Pombalina, quartier entièrement reconstruit sur l’initiative du Marquês de Pombal après le tremblement de terre de 1755.
Pouvant accueillir jusqu’à 4 personnes, l’appartement comprend deux chambres et une salle de bain complète avec douche. Une des chambres donnant sur la rue comporte un lit double avec une jolie bergère ancienne, la deuxième, sans fenêtre vers l’extérieur, a deux lits simples.
L’espace salon vous offre un ensemble canapé fauteuil aux lignes pures des années 50, mais entièrement refaits à neuf. D’autres objets de la même époque raviront tous ceux qui y sont sensibles comme ce petit frigo faisant office de rangement.
Une très grande cuisine entièrement équipée se trouve à l’arrière de l´appartement. Un écran TV connecté au câble vous permettra de suivre un film si le cœur vous en dit.
Pour finir, l’appartement est équipé avec internet sans fil.
En séjournant dans l’appartement Baixa Rétro, profitez aussi de toutes sortes de restaurants aux alentours et faites même à pied la plupart de vos visites touristiques dans le vieux Lisbonne.

Baixa
La Baixa est comme son nom l’indique, la partie basse de la ville, délimitée de chaque côté par une colline: Chiado et Bairro Alto d’une part et la colline du Castelo d’autre part. Jusqu’à la fin du XIXème siècle, la ville était complètement tournée vers le commerce en provenance des Indes. C’est au Terreiro do Paço qu’accostaient les embarcations venant des colonies et c’est ici que le roi D. Manuel ordonna de faire construire son Palais au XVIème siècle. Mais en 1755, le tremblement de terre détruit complètement cette partie de la ville, qui fut par la suite complètement reconstruite suivant un tracé géométrique des rues et des places. La place du Commerce avec ses grandes arcades au bord du Tage abritait donc des activités commerciales, aujourd’hui ce sont surtout des ministères. De là, partent les rues commerçantes telles que la rua Augusta, une rue piétonne très animée avec ses esplanades et ses boutiques. Le quartier de la Baixa s’étend jusqu’au Rossio, la place la plus centrale de la ville réputée pour ses cafés, le café « Nicola » ou la pâtisserie « Suiça », mais aussi la gare du même nom, avec sa façade de style Manuélin qui dessert Sintra.

Our host liliana was so nice and informative. she created for us a guide printed out about Lisbon. She was also available to reach outside of when she first gave us the keys. The apartment was clean and the location was perfect. I would definitely book here again.

Location of the apartment was excellent! Liliana's recommendations and help were invaluable.
I think the bathroom needs some work. There is no ventilation system in the bathroom to allow steam from the shower to go out. Also, the tub leaks water onto the floor, and the tub drains slowly. There were also many insects in the bathroom (perhaps due to the water which leaks from the tub). Lastly, perhaps you can prepare a list of instructions on how to work the TVs.

Location, location, location ! ! On pedestrian street, two blocks from Metro station(Rossio), 3 blocks from the Rossio train station to Sintra, 3 blocks from tram stop to Belem, 2 blocks from Tram 28 stop, 3 blocks from Commercial Square, 2 blocks from the Elevador de Justa. Wonderful central location. Lots of reasonable restaurants on the three pedestrian streets. Owner met us at the apartment, provided lots of information and suggestions, recommended a great restaurant with typical Portguese food and also provided a welcoming bottle of wine ! It was a splendid place to stay for ourselves and two children. Kitchen was well equipped.

We were travelling with a 1 year old so the central location made it easy to explore Lisbon and allowed us to go back to the apartment and rest throughout the day. The apartment was very well equipped, would definitely recommend it. Tomaz was very helpful and his restaurant suggestions were great! Great kitchen!
The only draw back was that being on Rua Augusta (main pedestrian street), it was quite loud on the weekend night and a little hard falling asleep (only a concern if you are a light sleeper). But if you want a central location that's what you can expect. In fact we loved being able to street watch from our apartment window. Rua Augusta is very lively and fun to watch!

Superb spotin the middle of via Augusta, very strategic for visiting all parts of Lisboa. Close to all kinds of public transport. train to Sintra round the corner.Very friendly reception, with good restaurant tips. Nespresso coffeemachine and dishwasher.We walked to Amalfi everynight for having diner.next time Lisboa, i,ll bool this again for sure!
If you are a lite sleeper than you,d better take the middle room instead of the front one,for the weekend. In this room it is very quiet.

Het appartement is op zich goed bevallen vanwege de centrale ligging in de stad, maar totaal ongeschikt voor twee stellen. Er zijn geen twee slaapkamers met privacy. De 2de slaapkamer ligt met glazen deuren aan de grootste slaapkamer.
Zie boven, de foto's suggereren dat je er met twee stellen goed slaapkamers hebt, maar dat is gewoon niet zo. Als we dat geweten hadden, zouden we niet geboekt hebben. Ondanks de vriendelijke aankomst waren we toch wat verbaasd over de afhandeling van het vertrek. we moesten er vroeg uit omdat er weer vroeg nieuwe gasten kwamen. het is toch heel gebruikelijk om tot twaalf uur/een uur de tijd te hebben om te vertrekken, maar we moesten er echt om elf uur uit zijn. Jammer is ook dat er wel ramen in de keuken waren maar je er niet doorheen kon kijken. Al met al niet voor herhaling vatbaar, zelfs niet voor één stel, ook al is de ligging werkelijk perfect.
