The Velazquez apartment is located right in the middle of Barcelona city only a 150 meters from Plaça Catalunya and Las Ramblas, making it accessible to all areas of interest in Barcelona such as the Gothic Quarter, and the very trendy El Borne. At walking from the apartment you will find the superb food and produce market called La Boqueria on Las Ramblas, an absolute must for any visitor to Barcelona. The apartment offers a more quiet reprive from the bustling and very busy Las Ramblas but close enough for guests to walk to where the action is.

Walk out the front door of the apartment building and you have a shopping experience just waiting to happen all around you. Paseo de Gracia, about 3 mins walk, alone will keep you busy for hours. Walk to Portal d'Angel and continue down to Portaferrisa where there are more stores for you to explore. A short 5 min walk will take you into El Borne one of of Barcelona's oldest neighbourhoods, an intricate maze of plaças and squares all interconnected by narrow, medieval streets where you will find lots of trendy boutiques and great bars, cafes and restaurants. Another option for the visitor staying at this great Barcelona apartment is to visit the Gothic quarter situated right in the heart of the old town, about a 8-10 mins walk from your front door. This is the area that fell within the medieval walls and, until 150 years ago, made up the entire city of Barcelona. The area is a body of interconnecting narrow, cobble stoned streets where you can potter around for hours and explore the shops and restaurants. Las Ramblas is another must for the visitor in Barcelona where the famous "La Boqueria" market is, an 8 minute stroll to Las Ramblas from your front door, where you will be amused and entertained by all the street acts as you make your way down to the market.

The Velazquez apartment has been completely renovated and modernized to achieve the quality and high standard necessary to make this a luxury apartment for our visitor to Barcelona. You can see this from the moment you step into the tastefully, calssically styled foyer, as well as the perfectly preserved facade of the building. This penthouse apartment is perfect for 2 to 4 people and caters to their every need. The bedroom area in this large and spacious studio styled apartment, is simple and uncluttered and has a queen size bed; fabulous curtains, with mathching throw cushions on the bed, section off this area from the rest of the apartment. The bathroom which has a bath and shower unit, is wonderfully unique, with large black tiling as the main feature. This unusual choice of colour only adds to the elengance and uniqueness of the decor of this luxury apartment. The decor the entire apartment has been kept tastefull and uncomplicated and there is plenty of wardrobe space for all guests.

The spacious and comfortable living room of the apartment is the perfect place to relax and watch some TV or listen to music. The sofa is also a pull out bed for any extra guests. The large terrace windows allow the sunlight to pour into the apartment creating a lovely relaxed ambience. The modern look and feel of the entire apartment has been carefully thought out and the atmosphere is one of warmth, comfort and relaxation. The fabulous, high quality and finished hard wood floor that can be found throughout the apartment is wonderful and is a deep, warm reddish brown colour.

The kitchen is fully equipped with all mod cons such as the vitro ceramic cooker, the oven, fridge freezer, plus you will find all of the comforts of home such as a kettle, toaster, juicer etc, to make your visit to Barcelona easy and stress free. Bed linens, bathroom paper and clean towels are all provided. One of the nicest features of this kitchen is that it is open plan and faces towards the terrace and also the dining area. The dining area and the kitchen are seperated from the bedroom and living area, so whether you choose to eat inside or outside, it's equally convenient. The dining area has a wonderful white oval shaped dining table with four chairs....

Another wonderful feature of the Velazquez apartment is that it has ADSL and a phone, with a small area that can be used as an "office" or somewhere to send your "wish you were here" emails......
