The owner Raimundo welcomed me with great warmth, a congenial handshake, a map and a brief yet valuable orientation to both the apartment and Barcelona. Happy to be called incase of an emergency or just some reliable local advice, Raimundo was very professional without being imposing in anyway. The studio apartment is conveniently situated on the corner of the same street as Placa de la Musica and a residential lane. It's spacious, light, clean with a contemporary feel. Thoughtfully equipped with reliable hot water, wireless internet, washing machine, coffee machine, it's all contained in a heritage shell in El Born. The two sets of double doors that open on to separate balconies that face both streets are lined with thriving pot plants. It was nice to wake each morning, draw open the curtains, let in the morning sun, fresh air and sounds of the old city awakening below. By 10:30pm, it's peaceful and still again. When my daughter arrived to stay on my last night, I didn't feel cramped or crowded at all. A brilliant location, comfortable, safe and secure, the apartment was like my home away from home.
