Charming attic apartment on two levels in the centre of Venice, a short distance from the historic Rialto Bridge
Located in the historic neighbourhood of San Polo, with views of the Gran Canal and the square, where a picturesque daily local fish and vegetable market takes place, the Alba apartment is a romantic refuge with an enchanting ambiance, perfect for a couple or a small group.
The apartment:
The Alba apartment is located on the second floor of an attractive late 1800's building, refurbished almost completely, without elevator access (approximately 38 steps to the apartment's floor). The main room, flooded with natural light, features typical Venetian marble floors and wooden beams which form the ceiling's truss design, and is laid out across two levels.
On the first level is a welcoming open-plan kitchen, the dining table with chairs, and a TV and sofa bed. An iron staircase leads to the inspiring mezzanine level, framed by beams and furnished with a comfortable double bed.
On the same level as the living-room there is a small room with a single bed for the 3rd guest and a completely refurbished bathroom, which is stylish and refined in design and is fitted with a lovely shower.
The Alba apartment also has available to guests wireless Internet access, a dish-washer, a/c and independent heating.
Charming and romantic with a splendid view glancing out over the Grand Canal, the Alba apartment is perfect for you to get to know the real Venice, and will treat you to some truly unforgettable moments.

San Polo
This is the smallest district of Venice but also one of the most lively and picturesque. Through its characteristic narrow streets full of shops and taverns you will experience the atmosphere of ancient times. San Polo district is a mixed-bag “sestiere” of residential corners and tourist sights and it stretches northwest of the Rialto Bridge to the principal church of “Santa Maria dei Frari” and the “Scuola di San Rocco”. It overlooks the Grand Canal. The most important area is Rialto, once the economic centre of the Venetian Republic. Despite being the smallest in size, this part of the city is populated by many Venetians and is one of the most attractive. Traditional taste is here widespread and respected all along the route leading to Rialto, with restaurants, osterie and “bacari”, serving appetizers (“cicheti”) and good wine(“ombre”). Unmissable the Rialto market that has taken place here for centuries with Erbarìa (the fruit and vegetable market), Pescarìa (the fish market) and Beccarìa (the butcher’s area). The spacious “Campo San Polo” is the main “campo” of Venice with the San Paolo Apostolo Church hosting important paintings by Veronese , Jacopo Palma il Giovane, Tintoretto and Tiepolo. San Cassiano Church, Carlo Goldoni’s House and the Franciscan Basilica of the Frari with Titian’s paintings surely deserve a stop.

The very friendly and helpful welcome, the view of the Grand Canal which was spectacular and a constant source of entertainment, the central situation and the fact that vaporetti stops were very close by, and the markets selling fresh fish, fruit and vegetables just outside the door. The apartment was light, spacious and tastfully decorated in an un-fussy style.
