The La Muralla apartment is located in the heart of the Carmen district, where one can enjoy the most traditional, bohemian and historic area of the city. The area is an ideal and recommended place to stay.
All the main important landmarks are within this area: the modernist Central Market, the Cathedral, the Carmen Museum, the San Pio V, the Botanical Gardens, IVAM, and many more... only minutes away on foot.
Getting to the beach or to Valencia’s new port, is very simple, thanks to the well distributed public transport.
The apartment;
La Muralla apartment is a must for any visitor looking for tranquillity but also a truly centrally located apartment.
It is on the ground floor and can accommodate up to 10 guests.
Two apartments in one, with two entrances, it is joined together by an immense second living/dining room which is given charm and character by the huge white sofa and a glass topped dinner table; the whole looking out onto the tranquil terrace.
The most impressive and fabulous part of the apartment is its immense patio/terrace that has two distinctly separate areas. An area with a table and sofas where you can eat and chill out together, and a second area, designed as if it where an old Arabian courtyard with part of the original battlement wall dating back to Arab times, way before the Romans! Quite an experience for the senses ... like travelling back in time by hundreds of years!
Its 300sqm surface area (150 + 150) comprises of four bedrooms; one with a double bed and the other three with two single beds each. There are three bathrooms with large showers, one of them en-suite.
The kitchen is between both areas and despite it’s comparatively compact size it is fully equipped and perfectly well prepared to cook your meals if you wish to. It also has a laundry corner.
The first living room has a comfortable sofa bed which can sleep 2 extra guests, a second TV set and DVD player.
The exceptional décor incorporates well distributed radiators for the winter, a/c for the summer, fans on the ceiling, wireless internet access and wardrobes to comfortably place your belongings in. All of these details contribute to create an extremely welcoming atmosphere in each and every room.

Ciutat Vella/El Carmen
The historical centre of Valencia is comprised of El Carmen and the commercial city centre - Ciudad Vella.
Among the most important monuments are Plaza Redonda, Torres de quart, Portal de Valldigna and the Iglesia Del Carmen. One of the main features of El Carmen are the holes in the massive towers of the Torres De Quart from the cannonballs used in the time of Napoleon. The ancient winding streets of the Barrio del Carmen contain buildings dating back to Roman and Arabic times. The Cathedral, built between the 13th and 15th century, is primarily of Gothic style, but contains elements of Baroque and Romanesque architecture. Beside the Cathedral is the Gothic Basilica of the Virgin (Basílica De La Virgen De Los Desamparados). The 15th century Serrano and Quart towers are part of what was once the wall surrounding the city.
UNESCO has recognized the Late Gothic silk exchange (La Lonja de la Seda) as a World Heritage Site. The modernist Central Market (Mercado Central) is one of the largest in Europe. The main railway station, Estación Del Norte, is built in art deco style.
The area is full of young people and lively bars. This lifestyle in contrast to the backdrop of old stone buildings and hidden courtyards, huge wooden doors with high door-knockers (to be reached from horseback) gives the Carmen a unique charm.
In the city centre, to the south of the Carmen, you will find all the international high street shops and most well known brand names. The largest square is the Plaça de l'Ajuntament, which contains the town hall (ajuntament), a cinema that shows classic movies (La Filmoteca), and many restaurants and bars.You cannot miss the majestic post office with paintings on the ceiling.
