This modern and recently refurbished duplex apartment is located approximately 50 metres from the famous Central Market.
This apartment with arts inspired décor is situated in the upper part, (WITHOUT elevator access) of an 18th century building boasting a rich historical past. Bohemian in character and decorated with original items, this apartment will surely satisfy any of the needs that our guests might have. It is the perfect place from which you can enjoy the most authentic side of the city of Valencia.
The area surrounding the Apartment;
The location of this apartment could not be better, located only 50m or so from the famous Mercado Central, the largest fruit and vegetables market in Europe. The guest simply has to step out of the building to enjoy all this great city has to offer...
All the must see landmarks are within easy walking distance, Plaza Ayuntamiento, the amazing Cathedral, El Carmen area, to name but a few...
Not far at all from the impressive and futuristic City of Arts and Sciences and the beaches of Valencia. You can take the public transport or a taxi.
The city centre offers, where the Carla apartment is located, a wide range of restaurants, bars, clubs and shops. It is right next to everything in the old traditional part of Valencia.
The Apartment;
The Carla apartment is in itself a piece of artwork. The owner, a well-known Valencian painter, has adorned the whole space, and integrated his artworks throughout the apartment. It's practically an exhibit, and in fact all the artwork is for sale!
The apartment is on a high third floor WITHOUT elevator access, and the last flight of stairs is quite narrow.
This cosy and bright apartment comprises of a living/dining room, open-plan kitchen, all integrated into one space, and a separate bathroom. There are two separate bedrooms, with two single beds each, and an upstairs bedroom WITHOUT doors, which can be accessed via a spiral staircase.
The living room is exceptional due to its 18th century spiral staircase, which has a sofa situated next to it that is perfect for relaxing on after a hard day of sightseeing and/or shopping. The TV is mounted on the wall.
The designer kitchen has 18th century ceramic and hand-painted enamelled tiling. Open-plan, the kitchen is totally equipped to allow guests to prepare their meals if they should wish to.
The attic area is a large space with a double bed.
The downstairs bathroom has a shower, washbasin and toilet. On arrival, guests shall find at their disposal clean towels and fresh bed linen.
This unique, artistic and homely apartment is an affordable, delightful and entertaining choice for your visit to Valencia.
It is a perfect apartment for young people. We don't recommend this apartment for elderly visitors and/or small children.

Ciutat Vella/El Carmen
The historical centre of Valencia is comprised of El Carmen and the commercial city centre - Ciudad Vella.
Among the most important monuments are Plaza Redonda, Torres de quart, Portal de Valldigna and the Iglesia Del Carmen. One of the main features of El Carmen are the holes in the massive towers of the Torres De Quart from the cannonballs used in the time of Napoleon. The ancient winding streets of the Barrio del Carmen contain buildings dating back to Roman and Arabic times. The Cathedral, built between the 13th and 15th century, is primarily of Gothic style, but contains elements of Baroque and Romanesque architecture. Beside the Cathedral is the Gothic Basilica of the Virgin (Basílica De La Virgen De Los Desamparados). The 15th century Serrano and Quart towers are part of what was once the wall surrounding the city.
UNESCO has recognized the Late Gothic silk exchange (La Lonja de la Seda) as a World Heritage Site. The modernist Central Market (Mercado Central) is one of the largest in Europe. The main railway station, Estación Del Norte, is built in art deco style.
The area is full of young people and lively bars. This lifestyle in contrast to the backdrop of old stone buildings and hidden courtyards, huge wooden doors with high door-knockers (to be reached from horseback) gives the Carmen a unique charm.
In the city centre, to the south of the Carmen, you will find all the international high street shops and most well known brand names. The largest square is the Plaça de l'Ajuntament, which contains the town hall (ajuntament), a cinema that shows classic movies (La Filmoteca), and many restaurants and bars.You cannot miss the majestic post office with paintings on the ceiling.
