The subway station is also walking-distance away, with direct connection to the international airport. A relaxing walk will get you to the heart of the historic center, where you shall find a wide range of stores, restaurants and entertainment, specially in the "Barrio del Carmen." Next to the green areas of the river.
The apartment;
The Shackleston 4 apartment is located in a four-story building that has been completely redone. It is on a 2nd floor with elevator and can house up to 6 guests.
Its architecture and decor details conjure up a refined and very special atmosphere. The foyer leads onto the kitchen, fully furnished in white and with flooring in real natural slate. It is equipped with a dishwasher, refrigerator and all the small kitchen appliances necessary for our guests' comfort. The dining area has a glass and silver-plated iron table with matching chairs and seating for 6 guests. It also has a large independent laundry room with a washing machine, clothes rack and a window.
From the hallway, you have access to a full bathroom with bathtub and shower screen completely color-covered in two different shades of gray. The sink, set on wood and with wrought iron base, conjures up a dynamic and contemporary atmosphere, whilst a panel made of horizontal ceramic bands sets aside and frames the "toilette" area.
The double bedroom, located next to the bathroom, is cozy, comfortable and welcoming. It has two single beds, a handcrafted bedside table lacquered in a subtle pearl-tone white, custom-made tropical wood headboards, a large window, and a wall-long wardrobe.
The Shackleston 4 apartment counts on a living room with private balcony and is altogether a clear example of successful space distribution and a wise selection of furniture and decor details. Whilst comfortable and contemporary, it also has a classic feel to it. The dining area, with seating for 6, offers guests a pleasant area where custom-made black hardwood furniture is combined with pearl-tone gray color punched upholstered chairs. A stunning custom-made sideboard cabinet placed before it plays on the same design as the table. In the living room area there is a large sofa bed which can sleep 2 people, upholstered in bright and elegant purple velvet, which contrasts with the two armchairs, in grass-tone green and soft cool wool. There is a large wood and wrought iron coffee table, a TV set, a DVD player and large mirrors with silver leaf decoration, that create a feeling of ample space. Framing the armchairs, and covering the radiators, there is another beautiful sideboard with black and gold color lamps.
From the living room you have access to a double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and a private balcony. This room puts forth warmth and a discreet elegance, combining classic and contemporary elements with explicitly luxurious textile. The room has an armchair, a double bed with a handcrafted gray lacquered headboard, nightstands with skilfully crafted curves upon which rest silver based lamps, and also exquisite Turkish carpets on both sides of the bed, matching with the furnishing and pictorial details in a soft deep-red color that give the room a lively and welcoming warmth.
The wardrobe area in a corner leads onto the large en-suite bathroom in warm chocolate and earth tone color code, and a large bathtub which allows guests to use this space on two levels as a small "hammam" in order to chill-out. The sink is set on wood with wrought iron bases and has beautiful silver-plated soap dispensers.
The property is equipped with video intercom, air conditioning with cold/hot air mode, and central heating via ducts.
Aside from getting to know and visiting Valencia, the Shackleston 4 apartment offers a unique opportunity to enjoy a stay in this welcoming atmosphere, boasting sound architectural design.

Ciutat Vella/El Carmen
The historical centre of Valencia is comprised of El Carmen and the commercial city centre - Ciudad Vella.
Among the most important monuments are Plaza Redonda, Torres de quart, Portal de Valldigna and the Iglesia Del Carmen. One of the main features of El Carmen are the holes in the massive towers of the Torres De Quart from the cannonballs used in the time of Napoleon. The ancient winding streets of the Barrio del Carmen contain buildings dating back to Roman and Arabic times. The Cathedral, built between the 13th and 15th century, is primarily of Gothic style, but contains elements of Baroque and Romanesque architecture. Beside the Cathedral is the Gothic Basilica of the Virgin (Basílica De La Virgen De Los Desamparados). The 15th century Serrano and Quart towers are part of what was once the wall surrounding the city.
UNESCO has recognized the Late Gothic silk exchange (La Lonja de la Seda) as a World Heritage Site. The modernist Central Market (Mercado Central) is one of the largest in Europe. The main railway station, Estación Del Norte, is built in art deco style.
The area is full of young people and lively bars. This lifestyle in contrast to the backdrop of old stone buildings and hidden courtyards, huge wooden doors with high door-knockers (to be reached from horseback) gives the Carmen a unique charm.
In the city centre, to the south of the Carmen, you will find all the international high street shops and most well known brand names. The largest square is the Plaça de l'Ajuntament, which contains the town hall (ajuntament), a cinema that shows classic movies (La Filmoteca), and many restaurants and bars.You cannot miss the majestic post office with paintings on the ceiling.
