Contemporary design apartment, very well laid out and equipped. Located in a fully redone historic building located in a privileged area of the city's historic center and overlooking the Turia River. It has 1 bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, and large private balconies in all the rooms.

The six Shackleston apartments are all located in the same building, and can be rented separately or altogether (the whole building). It can accommodates a total of 28 people. Please, contact directly the reservations team for a customized budget and possible discounted rates.

The area surrounding the apartment;

The Shackleston 1 apartment is located on a quiet street of old-time Valencia. There is a public bus stop near the apartment from where you shall be able to access all the newer areas of Valencia, like the City of Arts & Sciences, the City Hall Square (Plaza del Ayuntamiento) and the Valencia beaches.

The subway station is also walking-distance away, with direct connection to the international airport. A relaxing walk will get you to the heart of the historic center, where you shall find a wide range of stores, restaurants and entertainment, specially in the "Barrio del Carmen." Next to the green areas of the river.

The apartment

The Shackleston 1 apartment is located on the first floor of a four-story fully redone building with elevator and can house up to 2 guests.

This graceful apartment is the perfect choice for a leisure or business trip as it counts on everything you might need for a happy, fruitful stay, whilst enjoying some relaxing moments. It also counts on a practical office.

Guests are welcomed by natural light that shines in through the large balcony windows of the apartment that puts on a joyful, clean-cut, contemporary decor, just perfect everywhere you look and where nothing has been left to chance.

The living room has two distinct areas. The lounge welcomes guests with a large silver-gray velvet sofa, a set of graceful tropical wood slate scissor lift coffee tables on a fantastic Turkish carpet, a TV set, and a DVD player. A large aged-silver framed mirror created the impression of having twice as much room. Thanks to a large balcony and being one with the living room, the office receives plenty of natural light. It has a large glass table with two lamps, each one of them different designs but both equally functional and beautiful, as well as shelves, custom-made drawers and two striking contemporary design chairs.

A beautiful showcase separates the living room from the spacious kitchen, which also counts a nice private balcony. Fully equipped and furnished in white, it has all necessary appliances to make your stay comfortable and convenient, including a white lacquered table next to the balcony that will make truly enjoyable having your breakfast and meals while enjoying a delightful natural light.

The double en-suite bedroom of the Shackleston 1 will pleasantly surprise guests thanks to the large private balcony and oriental decor. The bedroom is furnished with a double bed and intentionally worn-down black bedside tables that dramatically highlight the room's works of art, the white cushion's delicate embroidery, and silver base lamps. The room is complete with a large wardrobe and a mirror. The en-suite bathroom is large, in chocolate and earth color coating. There is also a beautiful tropical wood mirror, reflecting the bathroom's built-in sink, set on a sturdy wrought iron base. Guests can use the bathtub seat, found in the large bathtub with glass screen enclosure, to relax and enjoy a moment in “tiny but 100% hammam” style.

The property is equipped with video intercom, air conditioning with cold/hot air mode, and central heating via ducts.

Aside from getting to know and visiting Valencia, the Shackleston 1 apartment gives you a unique opportunity to enjoy a stay in a delightful accommodation, where each room puts on a truly welcoming feel.

Ciutat Vella/El Carmen

The historical centre of Valencia is comprised of El Carmen and the commercial city centre - Ciudad Vella.
Among the most important monuments are Plaza Redonda, Torres de quart, Portal de Valldigna and the Iglesia Del Carmen. One of the main features of El Carmen are the holes in the massive towers of the Torres De Quart from the cannonballs used in the time of Napoleon. The ancient winding streets of the Barrio del Carmen contain buildings dating back to Roman and Arabic times. The Cathedral, built between the 13th and 15th century, is primarily of Gothic style, but contains elements of Baroque and Romanesque architecture. Beside the Cathedral is the Gothic Basilica of the Virgin (Basílica De La Virgen De Los Desamparados). The 15th century Serrano and Quart towers are part of what was once the wall surrounding the city.
UNESCO has recognized the Late Gothic silk exchange (La Lonja de la Seda) as a World Heritage Site. The modernist Central Market (Mercado Central) is one of the largest in Europe. The main railway station, Estación Del Norte, is built in art deco style.
The area is full of young people and lively bars.  This lifestyle in contrast to the backdrop of old stone buildings and hidden courtyards, huge wooden doors with high door-knockers (to be reached from horseback) gives the Carmen a unique charm.

In the city centre, to the south of the Carmen, you will find all the international high street shops and most well known brand names. The largest square is the Plaça de l'Ajuntament, which contains the town hall (ajuntament), a cinema that shows classic movies (La Filmoteca), and many restaurants and bars.You cannot miss the majestic post office with paintings on the ceiling.

    Ligging prima. Voor twee personen goed geschikt. Alles wat je in Valencia wil bekijken ligt binnen handbereik. Fietsen over de Turia ( binnen 2 min bereikbaar ) is een belevenis. Wiel, Netherlands 14 March 2012

    Angel was just fantastic. He was so enthusiastic about Valencia - went through maps, must see places. His excitement and enthusiasm was just fantastic.  The apartment was like being back at home, it was absolutely lovely, and enabled me to fully relax and to totally enjoy the magnificent city of Valencia.  I will definitely be back.
