Zahara de los Atunes
Like Tarifa, Zahara is situated on the Strait of Gibraltar. This charming fishing village, where the “Almadraba” – a skill for catching tuna which dates from pre-Roman times – is still practised, offers some of the best beaches on the Spanish coast.
At just 70 km away from the city of Cadiz, and a few miles away from the enigmatic white villages of the area, Vejer de la Frontera, Conil de la Frontera, Medina Sidonia, etc. can all be visited from here.
There are many beaches to enjoy the sea and the wonderful sunsets, notably, Playa de Zahara, also known as Beach of the Germans, and Zahara de los Atunes.
The nightlife during high season is lots of fun. You can enjoy the nice weather and live music while drinking a well made mojito with your feet on the sand.
