Vaticano

The Vatican district is a quite and elegant area of the city centre of Rome adjacent to the Vatican City, the smallest independent country in the world. The area includes such resplendent sights as St. Peter’s Basilica (one of the world’s largest Christian churches), Castel St. Angelo and the astonishing Vatican Museums, one of the most beautiful and popular museums in the world. By crossing the bridge on the Tiber you can easily reach on foot the historical centre of Rome including Piazza Navona, the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish steps and the Coliseum. Also a five minutes' walk away you will find the charming Prati district: via Cola di Rienzo and Via Crescenzio with their countless boutiques represent a true paradise for shopping lovers.
The area is also very well served by public transports which provide a fast connection to Rome’s major historical sites and districts. The typical Trastevere neighborhood full of trendy bars and quality restaurants is reachable with a 20 minute walk along via della Lungara, once the private street of the Pope. Yet this is another fantastic and convenient location to discover all Rome’s wonders on foot!

Location was good.Place was squeaky clean and a nice comfortable bed. Found a parking spot for my car almost everytime I needed it. Had a washer and a dryer. A fantastic deck with a barbecue pit. Not too far from two different Carrefour. Just duck under the train station at the bottom of the stairs and you can catch a 64 bus that takes you everywhere you want to go as far as tourism is concerned. You get on the 64 at the head of the line so you can always find a seat. Train station can take you anywhere you want to go in Italy. If you're a little familiar you could fly in and get to your apartment by train from Fuimucino.  Despite being by the train station you didn't hear too much noise from trains.  The check in people were courteous and prompt. I can tell you from experience (and I am Italian citizen) this is a rare thing in Italy. Eckert, Italy 27 January 2012
