Undoubtedly, this is a great choice for absorbing the pleasure of the very best of Rome.

The area surrounding the apartment:

The Gaia apartment is located right in the heart of Rome historical centre, just behind Piazza Navona, one of the most famous and arguably the most beautiful squares of the eternal city. The piazza, unspoiled by new building or traffic, is today one of the best places to see Baroque architecture in Rome. Its oval shape results from the ruins of the Stadium of Domitian, lying underneath.

Navona square is also one of the most frequented place in Rome where both locals and tourists like to hang out even till late in the night thanks to the numerous outdoor cafés, restaurants and piano-bars. It is extremely pleasant just to sit on a cool stone bench and watch the world go by. Then join a table in one of the cafès that face onto the square and pep up your senses with an espresso or a cappuccino, while the locals shop and the street musicians capture the tourists. You will suddenly feel the Roman in you. When you are tired of people-watching, wander on your own and let yourself get lost on the beautiful cobblestone streets of the most fascinating area of the city.

The memorable stats of this unbelievable location include a 2-minute walk to the Campo de’ Fiori; 5 minutes to the Pantheon; 10 minutes to the Trevi fountain and the Spanish Steps; The Vatican and St. Peters a mere 20 minutes walk; by crossing the nearby pedestrian bridge Ponte Sisto in a 15 minute walk you reach Trastevere. Do we really need to say more?

The apartment:

Located on the first floor of a beautiful 18-century building with

NO elevator

, the Gaia apartment is situated on a pedestrian street off a small square, right at the back of Piazza Navona, which provides shelter and calm from the animated neighborhood at the doorstep.

From the art adorning its walls to the tasteful high quality furnishings, this sophisticated two-bedroom apartment has a distinctly Roman flair. Wood ceiling beams, terra cotta flooring, frescoed walls and crystal chandeliers give a feel for the past, while up-to-date appliances and amenities provide modern comfort.

This enchanting apartment features a master bedroom with a double bed, an ample wardrobe and a stylish chest of drawers. The second bedroom offers two single beds, which can be made up separately or pushed together as a king-size bed, and a large wardrobe for guests’ belongings.
The spacious and elegant living room is the ideal space to unwind after a busy day spent sightseeing the marvels of Rome. Here guests can relax by listening to some music, watching satellite TV or sending a “wish-you-were-here” email. This welcoming area includes also a lovely dining table with chairs for up to six people and a comfy double sofa bed which provides additional sleeping space for the fifth and the sixth guest.

Piazza Navona

Piazza Navona is one of the most frequented place in Rome where both locals and tourists like to hang out even till late in the night thanks to the numerous outdoors cafés, restaurants and piano-bars. It is extremely pleasant just to sit on a cool stone bench and watch the world go by. Then join a table in one of the cafés that face onto the square and pep up your senses with an espresso or a cappuccino, while the locals shop and the street musicians capture the tourists. You will suddenly feel the Roman in you.
A two minutes walk will also have you in the amazing Piazza Campo de’ Fiori. Tradition would have it that the name, literally “field of flowers” comes from Flora, Pompeo's lover, but more likely it comes from the fact that in the late 1300's, the square was abandoned for a brief period, and became a meadow. Nowadays "Campo de' Fiori" represents one of the places where Rome shows its most authentic character from the early morning with its fabulous open air market, to the deepest night with entertainment offered by numerous bars, restaurants and "trattorie" of the area. We definitely recommend you to wander on your own and let yourself get lost on the beautiful cobblestone streets of the most fascinating area of the city.
