You can also enjoy the Canal Saint Martin area, very popular with cool Parisians for its many restaurants and cafés.
What’s more, with the Place de la République metro station just 500 metres away (lines 3, 8, 9 and 11), all of the other unmissable Paris sights are within easy reach.
The apartment:
A Superb architectural renovation has been given to this apartment with an interesting distribution of space, and which is located on the 2nd floor (with elevator access) of a traditional Parisian building.
The natural ambiance, emphasised by the contemporary décor combined with its modern facilities, make this accommodation a particularly lovely place to stay.
The entrance opens onto the fully equipped open plan kitchen fitted with a counter on which you can take your meals.
The apartment continues onto a lounge area with a sofa from where you can enjoy all of the up to date facilities (LCD TV, wireless Internet access).
In order to maximise the space for everyday life, there is a mezzanine level above the kitchen area, with a double bed (sleeps 2, 140 cm wide). The mezzanine is accessed via a folding ladder. Therefore, children must be careful when going up and down it! Please also note, that the ceiling's height in the mezzanine area (120 cm) does not allow you to fully stand up.
At the other end of the apartment, there is another slightly elevated bedroom with a double bed (140 cm wide) which sleeps 2 extra guests.
Lastly, there is a walk-in shower available, for those well-deserved relaxing moments after a long, action packed day in and around Paris.
Le Marais
In the tenth century, tourists were not this lucky!
From the thirteenth century what were former marshes located on the outside of the city, in the Marais area, were transformed into damp soil crop fields (hence the name of Marais!).
Annexed to the city in 1360, it meant the start of the famous French style mansions, holiday homes for the kingdom's aristocracy, whose highpoint was the Place des Vosges.
A major restoration project of the buildings that had been the glory of the eighteenth century Marais, now allow visitors to fully enjoy the charms of one of the most visited Paris quarters.
Accessible by subway line 1, stay and discover a now trendy place where fashion designer boutiques, showrooms and art galleries harmoniously coexist with bars and restaurants.
Tale a stroll down Rue des Francs Bourgeois and find out which are the latest Parisian trends in shops that have perfectly managed to fit in in the Marais Middle Ages picture.
A village atmosphere to live and discover ... preferably on foot!
