The apartment Berenice is located extremely close to the famous streets known as the quadrilatero d'oro, which is to say “the golden quadrilateral”, where the most important fashion stores are based and have their new creations on show.
The area has every kind of service, and in the near vicinity guests can find stores, restaurants, cafes, nightclubs, and even a picturesque and typical market held twice a week, where it's possible to buy all the most characteristically traditional Italian cuisine products. The closest underground station (Palestro) is only 5 minutes walk away and is right next to the gardens, Giardini Pubblici.
The Apartment
The apartment is on the 3rd floor of a welcoming building recently refurbished and located on a quiet street which has very little traffic. It's interior has been furnished with care and using quality furniture.
The vast living room has an adjacent open plan kitchen with large cupboards and efficient kitchen appliances. At the center of the room, there is a black wooden table, and on the opposite side a comfortable sofa which can be converted into an extra single bed should the need arise. Down a short corridor there is the bedroom with delightful wooden floors. On the right hand side, behind brown-shaded elegant curtains, there is a whole wall fully fitted with an immense wardrobe, with shelves and hangers for clothes. In the center, there is a big bed with a black wooden frame which has two bedside tables and lamps with beautiful lampshades. Facing the bed is a chest of drawers where the large flat screen TV has been placed.
The bathroom, in different shades of pink coloured tiles, is between the two rooms, and is also fitted with a washing-machine/dryer, a shower unit and a large bathtub.
The apartment Berenice is particularly suitable for those guests wishing to be able to quickly reach, even on foot, the Duomo and the main shopping streets.

San Babila
The San Babila district, as it currently appears, arises from important transformations of Milano dating between the fascist era, before the second world war, and the post-war reconstruction of the 50’s and 60’s. Its westernmost part, with a regular grid of roads and wide tree-lined avenues, arose from the piani urbanistici/town-planning projects of the period between the 19th and 20th centuries that drove the city expansion at the time.
Well-know showrooms of interior design are to be found around the Fascist San Babila square, in particular: Via Durini, Corso Monforte and Porta Vittoria. Not far from here is another example of Fascist architecture, the impressive Courthouse (“Palazzo di Giustizia”). Behind the palace rise the complexes of Rotonda Besana, of Umanitaria and of Santa Maria della Pace.
At the end of Corso di Porta Vittoria, towards east, opens Cinque Giornate square with its monument in memory of the five days of battles in 1848 to free Milan from the Austrians. North-east of the square, around Piazza Tricolore and Piazza Risorgimento, one can find elegant streets denoting a simple yet wealthy neighbourhood, dotted with interesting shops, cafés and restaurants.
Closer to Giardini Pubblici, there are magnificent buildings, some of the most extraordinary examples of early 20th century architecture. Near via Mozart and via Serbelloni are Villa Necchi Campiglio, by P.Portaluppi and the Sola-Busca house, with sculptures by Adolfo Wildt.
