The La Lonja apartment in located in the lively heart of Palma city, near both shopping and cultural highlights
Given the excellent location of this charming one bedroom apartment, any trip into the city centre, historical part of town, or anywhere else is just a short walk away.
The private roof terrace is located on the top floor of the building, with the La Lonja apartment on the second floor. Guests access the terrace through the main staircase of the building.
The area surrounding the apartment
The location of this apartment is unbeatable. The apartment gets its name from the area La Lonja itself and is located just across the road from one of the most famous cocktail bars of the Balearics: Abaco. The famous cathedral is literally just around the corner and the Jaume III shopping street just a few blocks away. The Passeig des Born itself is full of cafées where guests can enjoy the sunshine on the outdoor terraces and watch people strolling by.
There are plenty of museums nearby as well, among them the contemporary art museum with a fantastic view of the seafront. The cathedral is not to be missed either!
As for shopping, you could not ask for a better location. Pick a direction as you walk out the front door and you will find yourself among the shops.
The Apartment
The La Lonja apartment has been renovated to create a warm, pleasant and very welcoming atmosphere. You enter into a warm living room off which you will find the bathroom, the kitchen and the bedroom.
The comfortable living room area comes with a sofa bed for guests three and four. Here you can sit back and relax after a long day's sightseeing or shopping, perhaps before heading out to discover one of the many excellent restaurants that Palma has to offer.
The bedroom is spacious and bright with a double bed. The apartment comes with sheets and towels.
The bathroom is very modern and fully equipped with a shower unit, sink and toilet. There is also a washing machine in this area.
A very modern and updated kitchen is completed by old Spanish style tiles that have been kept to maintain some of the apartment's old charm. Off the kitchen, at the back of the apartment, is a dressing room that is also useful for storing luggage during your stay.
Please note that the price for an entire week's stay or longer is discounted according to season.
The La Lonja apartment is an excellent choice for visitors wanting to be near all the action in the centre of Palma!

La Lonja
La Lonja is the restaurant area nearest the heart of the city where you can find such famous places as “Abaco” for cocktails and “La Boveda” for tapas. Both well worth a visit. One of the main streets in this area is the C/Apuntadors, leading to Plaça Drassanes from the Passeig des Born. Some of our apartments are located on the C/Apuntadors itself and this is a marvelous location for you to discover the restaurants and bars on offer in the La Lonja area of Palma as well as the shopping which is just around the corner.
The La Lonja area also contains quite a few lovely squares where you can enjoy the local life as it passes you by on the streets and in the cafés. The square next to the “La Lonja” itself, the old fish market, which looks more like a church, is highly recommended for tapas and lunches outside on the big restaurant terraces. The Drassanes square is also good for a quick snack or tapas on your way from the centre out to Santa Catalina and some of the lovely restaurants you can find there or on the way.
Walking further left, or west, passing the Plaça Drassanes and heading up to the Museum of Modern Art, or perhaps strolling along the seafront under the palm trees that gave the city its name, you arrive at Santa Catalina. Santa Catalina is a bohemian area with low buildings and a big variety of very good restaurants and up and coming bars. This is the area to visit for a good meal and interesting walks.
In the area between La Lonja and Santa Catalina you get more classic, typical bars open all year, which are mostly visited by the locals. If you are looking for the best empanadas in town, then this is a must!
Santa Catalina is known as the restaurant district of Palma and is famous for its up and coming bars and restaurants. It might be a good idea to check in with one of the local tourist offices either on the Passeig des Born or the Plaça Espanya to check which restaurants are the talked about while you are visiting. You can also ask our staff on Mallorca for recommendations on restaurants and bars in this area.
C/Fabrica is definitely one of the streets in Santa Catalina that clients should check out to see what is on offer.
Friendly Rentals have quite a few apartments in the Santa Catalina area since this is a very up-and-coming part of Palma that absolutely should not be missed. It might be a good idea to book your parking space in advance with the accommodation, if available, since it is sometimes difficult to park on the Santa Catalina streets during the high seasons, weekends and so on.
This is an area of Palma that is a must, be if for Asian fusion or Argentinian steak houses. This is also the area that leads you to the next point of interest: the Passeig Marítimo and its bars and nightclubs!
