The Murillo apartments are located in Palma center, near all the trendy bars and restaurants in Santa Catalina
Santa Catalina is the restaurant district of Palma and the Murillo apartments are ideally located for your culinary discoveries as well as the rest of central Palma, cathedral, marina and so on.
All Murillo apartments are situated in the same brand new building and you can opt for parking space as well, somewhat of a luxury in Palma center. The Murillo Blue is a so-called duplex apartment, two floors connected by a spiral staircase.
The area surrounding the apartment
The Santa Catalina area is located across the river from the famous shopping street Jaume III, to the left of the Avenida de Argentina. You would not be more than minutes away from all the action in the heart of the city, in an area packed full of exciting restaurants and bars. There is something for everyone here, from Asian fusion to traditional Spanish food on to American-style diners.
The street where the Murillo apartments are located is a tranquil one, you would move over a couple of blocks to find yourself among the bars and restaurants, so you will not have to worry about getting a good night's sleep!
There are plenty of museums nearby as well, among them the contemporary art museum with a fantastic view of the seafront. The cathedral is not to be missed either! In the area around the cathedral, Plaça Mayor and Jaume III is also where you go for a Palma shopping experience.
The Apartment
The Murillo Blue apartment is brand new and features a great terrace, two bedrooms, one bathroom and one separate WC as well as a living room area with an integrated kitchen. The style is modern and light with plenty of colour added.
You enter the apartment on the second floor of the building, which is the first floor of the Murillo Blue apartment. Here you will find a comfortable living room area that comes with sofa, TV and DVD where you can relax if you decide to stay in one evening. There is a dining table and chairs as well. This living room/dining room area also features a smaller balcony.
The fully equipped kitchen is located on the right hand side of this floor, together with a built-in balcony with washing machine and a separate WC.
Upstairs you will find the two bedrooms adjoined by a bathroom. The walk-in shower is a lovely feature of this bathroom. The master bedroom contains a double bed and ample wardrobe space. Here is also the exit out to the fantastic terrace where you can enjoy that Mallorcan sun.
The second bedroom has bunk beds that fold up during daytime to allow for a bit more space.
The Murillo Blue is the right choice for visitors wanting a modern and comfortable apartment in the center of Palma!

Santa Catalina
La Lonja is the restaurant area nearest the heart of the city where you can find such famous places as “Abaco” for cocktails and “La Boveda” for tapas. Both well worth a visit. One of the main streets in this area is the C/Apuntadors, leading to Plaça Drassanes from the Passeig des Born. Some of our apartments are located on the C/Apuntadors itself and this is a marvelous location for you to discover the restaurants and bars on offer in the La Lonja area of Palma as well as the shopping which is just around the corner.
The La Lonja area also contains quite a few lovely squares where you can enjoy the local life as it passes you by on the streets and in the cafés. The square next to the “La Lonja” itself, the old fish market, which looks more like a church, is highly recommended for tapas and lunches outside on the big restaurant terraces. The Drassanes square is also good for a quick snack or tapas on your way from the centre out to Santa Catalina and some of the lovely restaurants you can find there or on the way.
Walking further left, or west, passing the Plaça Drassanes and heading up to the Museum of Modern Art, or perhaps strolling along the seafront under the palm trees that gave the city its name, you arrive at Santa Catalina. Santa Catalina is a bohemian area with low buildings and a big variety of very good restaurants and up and coming bars. This is the area to visit for a good meal and interesting walks.
In the area between La Lonja and Santa Catalina you get more classic, typical bars open all year, which are mostly visited by the locals. If you are looking for the best empanadas in town, then this is a must!
Santa Catalina is known as the restaurant district of Palma and is famous for its up and coming bars and restaurants. It might be a good idea to check in with one of the local tourist offices either on the Passeig des Born or the Plaça Espanya to check which restaurants are the talked about while you are visiting. You can also ask our staff on Mallorca for recommendations on restaurants and bars in this area.
C/Fabrica is definitely one of the streets in Santa Catalina that clients should check out to see what is on offer.
Friendly Rentals have quite a few apartments in the Santa Catalina area since this is a very up-and-coming part of Palma that absolutely should not be missed. It might be a good idea to book your parking space in advance with the accommodation, if available, since it is sometimes difficult to park on the Santa Catalina streets during the high seasons, weekends and so on.
This is an area of Palma that is a must, be if for Asian fusion or Argentinian steak houses. This is also the area that leads you to the next point of interest: the Passeig Marítimo and its bars and nightclubs!
