The Born apartments are located in the heart of Palma city, near both shopping and cultural highlights
Given the excellent location of this charming one bedroom apartment, any trip into the city centre, historical part of town, or anywhere else is just a short walk away.
All three Born apartments are situated in the same carefully renovated building, their numbers indicate on which floor. The renovation has been made taking the old style into account and the result is very pleasing to the eye!
The roof terrace is shared between the three Born apartments.
The area surrounding the apartment
The location of this apartment is unbeatable; the famous cathedral is literally just around the corner and the Jaume III shopping street just across the Passeig des Born. The Passeig des Born itself is full of cafées where guests can enjoy the sunshine on the outdoor terraces and watch people strolling by.
There are plenty of museums nearby as well, among them the contemporary art museum with a fantastic view of the seafront. The cathedral is not to be missed either!
As for shopping, you could not ask for a better location. Pick a direction as you walk out the front door and you will find yourself among the shops.
The Apartment
The Borne III is a one bedroom apartment that has been renovated to create a warm, pleasant and very welcoming atmosphere. The traditional Spanish wooden beams are on view throughout the living room and bedroom.
You enter into a combined dining/living room where you find a spacious dining table for when you decide to eat in. To the right, you have a sofa bed for guests three and four in the confortable living room that also features a TV and a DVD for your entertainment. Here you can sit back and relax after a long day's sightseeing or shopping, perhaps before heading out to discover one of the many excellent restaurants that Palma has to offer.
The kitchen contains all the mod cons you need to make your stay a hassle free one: pots and pans, toaster, kettle and so on.
The apartment features one main bathroom en suite and one half bathroom located before the bedroom. Both bathrooms are very modern and the en-suite holds a large shower. The bedroom itself is lovely and bright, with wardrobes for your belongings.
Please note that the price for an entire week's stay or longer is discounted to 120€ per night.

Centre
The most important street in Palma is “El Passeig des Born”; it is a commercial street with bars, shops and restaurants and serves as a meeting place for the locals. This is where you find the famous “Bar Bosh” which serves as a meeting point for everyone in Palma.
In the old part known as the Casco Antiguo around the Passeig des Born you can find pubs and bars with a bohemian atmosphere near the cathedral. In the area around the sea promenade bordering the La Lonja area you can find more expensive, elegant bars and restaurants.
The Passeig des Born leads down to the Cathedral La Seu and the king’s palace and the marina and the sea. From the Passeig des Born, looking towards the sea, you have the La Lonja area on the right. The whole area to the right of the Passeig des Born is a maze full of good tapas bars, restaurants, squares and shops.
A stroll through the old part which is full of mansions from the 17th-19th centuries as well as a number of churches is very pleasant.
The “Plaça Mayor” is another focal point of the city. This is the central square with street artists performing where you can find a number of restaurants and bars as well as the beginning of two of the most important shopping streets in Palma, the C/San Miquel and the C/Sindicat. These two streets contain all the normal high-street brands as well as local produce and other highlights such as one of the contemporary arts museums.
The Plaça Mayor is located north of the Passeig des Born and this is also where you can find the municipal theatre in Palma, antique shops and fresh flowers along the La Rambla of Palma.
The Rambla and “Avenida Jaume III” are both important commercial streets as well. The Jaume III sports many of the brand name stores and the Ramblas is the place to go if you are looking for fresh flowers or wanting to extend your old coin collection… This lovely stroll has something for everyone!
The Avenida Jaume III stretches out from the top of the Passeig des Born towards the Passeig de Mallorca and Santa Catalina to the left. It is a very famous street where one of the two Corte Inglés stores is located. The other one is located on one of the Avenidas nearer Plaça Espanya,
The Plaça Espanya and la Rambla are connected by the C/Oms, another famous shopping street in the centre of Palma. This street is lined by shops as well as bars and serves as a shortcut from the shopping areas to the transportation centre on Plaça Espanya.
The Casco Antiguo, the Passeig des Born and the impressive cathedral, this is the place to be for the ultimate Mallorca shopping experience. Within the confines of the old ring road referred to as “Avenidas” there is enough shopping to last you at least a couple of weeks, should you wish. The area around the Passeig des Born and Jaume III boasts a variety of designer shops and the area around Plaça Mayor, C/San Miquel and C/Sindicat contains the high street shops and so much more. Enjoy!
