This extremely charming apartment is located in one of Madrid's more historical and traditional neighbourhoods.
The Letras apartment is a short 2 min walk from all the well known sights in Madrid... this is also the only area in Madrid which has been made completely pedestrian and is therefore a really agreable neighbourhood to stay in during your visit to Madrid...
The area surrounding the apartment;
The area is known as Barrio de Huertas or can also be called Barrio de las Letras as this area is famous for being home to some of Spain's most famous authors such as Cervantes, Quevedo and Lope de Vega ....
The Barrio de las Letras is one of the areas where the buildings have all been cleaned and restored, the streets have been pedestrianised and is known as a very safe area... at only 2 minutes walk you have the Museo del Prado, Museo Thyssen, the Museo Reina Sofia, the very famous Puerta del Sol, the Jardin Botánico, Plaza Mayor o Plaza de Santa Ana. And about 5 mins from the apartment you can find the Parque del Retiro, Gran Via, Plaza Cibeles, Plaza Real, the Rastro market or La Catedral de la Almudena.. the guest will also find a huge selection of theatres, cinemas, restuarants and Tapa bars...
The Apartment;
The Letras apartment is located in a very old historical building, typical of Madrid which has been totally refurbished to the highest standards. It has of course maintianed the original façade and is a great choice for your visit to Madrid... there is a fantastic wooden staricase, hardwood beams, reminiscent of the 19th century...
This sunny apartment is on the third floor with two balconies that look over the street.. it has approximately 72m2, distributed amongst a spacious living room, three bedrooms, one bathroom and a modern "designer" kitchen...
The living room is spacious and with touches of red and white, combined with the touches of wood and the colour green along with the original 19th century chimney makes this house a perfect choice for any visitor... Las Letras also comes with playstation, ADSL internet connection and telephone service with free local calls which can also receive all types of calls....
The three bedrooms have been decorated with style and great charm; the main bedroom comes with a double bed and wardrobe space. The second bedroom has 2 single beds, (in a pull-out bed) with a side-table, lamps and storage.
The third bedroom have 2 singles beds with a side-table, lamps and plenty of closet space.
For the 7th person there is a folding-bed that will be folded installed in the lounge by day and night just have to open it. (it's already equipped with linen)
The bathroom is wonderful, totaly refurbished and decorated to the same high standard as the rest of the apartment... it has a temperature controled shower, toilet, sink, etc...
Last, but not least, the kitchen which is on a par with the rest of the apartment comes totally equipped with all mod cons to ensure a comfortable and hassle free stay..
Please let us know if you need a cot, highchair or a barrier for one of the beds to prevent children falling out, so that we can make sure it is there when the guest arrives...
With regard to public transport, it couldn't be any better; at 20m we have the metro stop Anton Martin, at 5 mins Paeso de Recoletos where there are many bus lines which will take you to any place in Madrid.. there is also the Atocha train station which can take you to such highly recommended spots such as Toledo and Salamanca.
PLEASE NOTE: this lovely apartment is located on the third floor and the building does not have a lift, pets are welcome in Las Letras...
