As the name indicates, this is a palace. Few private residences, with this palatial style that take us back to the times of kings and queens, are left in Madrid. The apartment reminds us of movies set in the 18th Century and of famous museums.

The apartment is located in an equally historical and architectural categorized building constructed by the Guadí disciple Eduardo Reynals Toledo in 1906. The building has its own proper name called “Casa de Perez Vilaamil”. Furthermore, the adjacent building is also categorized as being among the modernist “gaudiano” y “floral” representatives of the city.

The Apartment:

This enormous spectacular apartment has 5 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms and a guest bathroom. The spacious apartment has 270 square meters and can house 9 persons comfortably.
This special apartment has not been selected for modern features, but exactly for the contrary. This is a very classical apartment with great detail. At the entrance, you arrive to the grand hall with its exceptional furniture. From here, you access the rest of the apartment. First, you will find the spectacular hall with its incredible decoration. There are original tapestries and carpeting from the royal tapestry house of the 1900’s. There are also frescos and paintings from the same time period along with armchairs, stools, chandeliers, round shaped mirrors with golden frames and many other original French styled objects that you can only find in a museum or an antique shop. The hall is separated from the television den by an arched double doorway which gives it privacy. The television den is connected to one of the bedrooms which has two adjoining individual beds. Both areas can be separated with curtains. The hall has three large windows that access a long balcony overlooking one of the most charming squares of the city. Furthermore, there is a windowed balcony with two chairs which can be enclosed to create a private space for moments of relaxation.
After leaving the communal areas, you access the rest of the house. The impressive dining room has a magnificent solid wood table standing over a valuable rug. There are also artisan display cabinets with drawings and wooden coffering on the walls. Amazing! Also worth mentioning is the interesting antique hot plate radiator. The radiator has a drawer in which you could put dishes to keep them warm.
The bedrooms have a simple yet comfortable style with new beds and mattresses. Three bedrooms consist of two individual beds while the other one has a queen sized bed. Each bedroom has the essentials such as wardrobes, night stands and lamps.
The old service quarters at the end of the house has an individual sofa bed.
The kitchen was remodeled some time ago and although a bit old-fashioned, it is still in perfect condition with its high quality furniture. The retro style bathrooms have not been recently remodeled either, but are also in perfect condition and work perfectly. There are two full bathrooms with bathtubs and one guest bathroom.
As far as the equipment is concerned, although there is no air-conditioning, there are fans that can be placed throughout the house. Guests will notice that these old buildings are very well constructed and very isolated making them very cool.

Huertas

The area of Huertas only 5 minutes walk from Sol with Calle Huertas the centrepiece. Also known as the Barrio de las Letras (District of the Letters) for hosting such well-known writers Miguel de Cervantes, Lope de Vega, Calderón de la Barca, Tirso de Molina - lived during the 17th century. The area is located in the heart of the city. Full of small alleys filled with exquisite cafes, local live music and restaurants where you can find good priced cuisine and exotic drinks from all around the world.

Plaza de Santa Ana is the heart of the neighbourhood, where the famous Spanish Theater, and many cafes, beer gardens and terraces that occupy almost the whole square, one of the main meeting points of the city both local and foreign visitors. The city government has given Santa Ana a face lift in recent years, from seedy to posh. The streets radiating off  Plaza de Santa Ana, are packed with Tapas bars and disco-pubs, popular as much among Spaniards as with an international crowd.

The eastern border of Huertas is Paseo del Prado, also known as Paseo de los Artes or "Boulevard of the Arts," which lies between the emblematic Plaza de Cibeles and Puerta de Atocha. The southern border is calle Atocha, which runs all the way from the train station to Plaza Mayor, and the northern border is Carrera de San Jerónimo, which ends at Puerta del Sol.
