São Jorge Castle at your doorstep
This adorable apartment with an upstairs bedroom is located in the medieval part of town, close to Alfama and the Castle, the most visited monument in Portugal. It is also close to many restaurants and major tourist sites within the city.
The apartment:
The Castelo 2 apartment is on the ground floor of an old house located in the area surrounding the São Jorge Castle, the neighbourhood has limited car access, which means that you can enjoy a tranquil stay in the apartment.
The ground floor comprises a living/dining area and an open plan kitchen. There is a well preserved, original wooden staircase leading upstairs to the bedroom, with low beam ceilings, a double bed, and several cushions arranged in front of the windows. On the ground floor there is a lovely bathroom with a shower.
The apartment is located in an area with limited car access. Only taxis and registered resident vehicles can enter. Therefore, if you come by car you'll have to park outside the area and access on foot.
The Castelo 2 is the perfect accommodation for a young couple looking for a peaceful getaway close to historic sites and tourist attractions. For those travelling as a group, we also offer the possibility of renting the Castelo 1 apartment, which is located next door.

Castelo
The neighborhood of Costa do Castelo features some of the most spectacular viewpoints of Lisbon. If you simply stroll around for a quick 30 minute walk, you will have views over most of the city and the Tagus river. Should you go up to the terraces of the São Jorge Castle, Lisbon will lie underneath at your feet. From here, turn towards the ocean and spend hours just watching the perfect geometry of the Baixa Pombalina. The Miradouro of Santa Luzia, just in front of Largo das Portas do Sol is only a few hundreds of meters away, so is the sector of Alfama in its vicinity of the Tagus. In the Baixa, a 5 minute walk from here, you’ll find a very busy shopping area where typical portuguese shops stand next to those with the newest brands of the market.
