To access the Chanceler apartment, you must first find the quiet street where there is the entrance to a patio.Then you take a staircase leading to a lovely terrace, on the 1st floor of a 17th century private property called the Santo Estevão Palace. The palace survived the 1755 earthquake which largely destroyed the city of Lisbon, and is owned by the same family that has had the property for over two hundred years.
This apartment has been fully renovated in contemporary style, with details such as the polished concrete floor, whilst highlighting some of the original features of the old building, like the bricked archway and the 18th century tiling. The décor tastefully blends family furniture and old paintings, which gives a chic, traditional feel.
The suite offers twin beds, and a bathroom with bathtub. The other bedroom’s prominent feature is twin beds beneath the bricked archway, as well as a spacious bathroom with shower. The little terrace-garden, blooming with pretty flowers, is all yours to enjoy in the shade of the lemon tree. In winter there are electric heaters for your use.
