Make yourself at home in a charming and typical Alfama apartment, one of the most popular and authentic neighbourhoods of the capital and also certainly the one that has changed the least since the 17th century. Ideally located in the heart of this neighbourhood, the Duplex do Beco apartment will allow you to soak up the atmosphere and will also be the starting point of all your tourist activities while in Lisbon.
The apartment:
It is from a staircase from the Belvedere Portas do Sol, that you will access the Duplex do Beco apartment. Situated on the 2nd floor of an old small building from the 17th century but entirely renovated, this
45sqm apartment can accommodate up to four people.
The apartment is lovely and warmly decorated. The living room and its dining area is bright in a corner a modern kitchen, fully equipped with modern appliances and a bar table and its four stools and a complete bathroom with shower,
A wooden stairs leads you to the upper level and its bedroom under the roof, with a fantastic large round bed. From its two attic skyline windows you can watch for hours the rooftops of the city. The large sofa bed in the lounge can accommodate 2 additional persons. There is accommodation for a party of 4 in this charming pied-à-terre hidden in the heart of Alfama.
The apartment provides air conditioning. A TV with cable channels and an internet WIFI system are also at your disposal for your evening when you decide to stay home.
If you come by car, it is possible to park on request at the Belvedere of Portas do Sol (2 mn walking from the apartment), for a special price.

Alfama
If you come to Lisbon, you cannot miss Alfama, one of the most picturesque and historical medieval neighborhood, a mesh of small tiny streets, cul-de-sacs and stone stairs. Here lives a mixed population, people of all ages, “true” lisboners or lost tourists come to visit or to listen Fado. Like in many other places in Lisbon, you’ll find here also some of the most spectacular viewpoints of the Tagus river and the city. Here you can still find various forms of traditional commerce, as well as nice quaint little restaurants and bars. From the apartment you can walk to the majority of the most popular sightseeing destinations, such as the “Castelo de S. Jorge” the “Sé” or the “Baixa Pombalina”. For transportation, walk, or go down to Santa Apolónia the main train station and its recently opened metro station, or use the popular tram n°28 that zigzags through Alfama and pursues its trip up and down the hills of Lisbon. Although of restricted access by car, there are several parking facilities nearby.
