Your apartment is located in one of several majestic palaces that withstood the 1755 Lisbon earthquake. Both comfortable and quiet, it will be the starting point for all your tourist visits in Lisbon.

To access the Chanceler apartment, you must first find the quiet street where there is the entrance to a patio. Then you take a staircase leading to a lovely terrace, on the 1st floor of a 17th century private property called the Santo Estevão Palace. The palace survived the 1755 earthquake which largely destroyed the city of Lisbon, and is owned by the same family that has had the property for over two hundred years.
Your accommodation is a nice little apartment of 100m², completely redone and decorated with great taste and in a cozy style. The living room is spacious, with a sofa and comfortable armchairs, while the dining area is set around a high dining table right next to the door of the modern day kitchen, decorated in a scarlet red color and well equipped for home-cooking fans. The two en-suite bedrooms have two adjacent twin beds, with a capacity for 4 guests, and two bathrooms, in an antique style orange marble and with a spacious shower, one with bath also. In winter, electric heaters can be used.

And to get a perfect stay, breakfast, dinner, daily cleaning or even an airport transfer can be proposed at an additional cost. Just make your request with your contact when booking or upon arrival.

Alfama

If you come to Lisbon, you cannot miss Alfama, one of the most picturesque and historical medieval neighborhood, a mesh of small tiny streets, cul-de-sacs and stone stairs. Here lives a mixed population, people of all ages, “true” lisboners or lost tourists come to visit or to listen Fado. Like in many other places in Lisbon, you’ll find here also some of the most spectacular viewpoints of the Tagus river and the city. Here you can still find various forms of traditional commerce, as well as nice quaint little restaurants and bars. From the apartment you can walk to the majority of the most popular sightseeing destinations, such as the “Castelo de S. Jorge” the “Sé” or the “Baixa Pombalina”. For transportation, walk, or go down to Santa Apolónia the main train station and its recently opened metro station, or use the popular tram n°28 that zigzags through Alfama and pursues its trip up and down the hills of Lisbon. Although of restricted access by car, there are several parking facilities nearby.

    Well equipped, with lots of the day-to-day necessities provided (wash up liquid, salt/pepper, oil/vinegar, dishwasher tablets etc). Nice modern furnishings and also great outside terrace.

    The apartment was very clean and in excellent condition, it was well equipped and was perfect for a short city break. The location is excellent and very close to the tram line (very easy to get into the city centre. Overall we found the service from friendly rentals was excellent, our contact Maria was very helpful, she organised someone to meet us at the apartment to hand over the keys and return our deposit. she also arranged our taxi to the airport and her level of English was excellent.  We really enjoyed our stay in Lisbon and I would highly recommend using Friendly rentals to anyone considering a short city break in Lisbon  Kind regards  Andrew Andrew, Ireland 12 August 2011
