Make yourself at home in a charming and typical Alfama apartment, one of the most popular and authentic neighbourhoods of the capital and also certainly the one that has changed the least since the 17th century. Ideally located in the heart of this neighbourhood, the Portas do Sol apartment will allow you to soak up the atmosphere and will also be the starting point of all your tourist activities while in Lisbon.

The apartment:

The Portas do Sol apartment is located on the ground floor of an old but completely renovated house in a small square of Alfama alleyway. It is from a staircase from the Belvedere Portas do Sol, that you will access to this 37sqm apartment, which can accommodate up to three people.
Comfortable with its wooden floors, many colours on the walls contribute to the apartment´s joyful and harmonious atmosphere. Upon entering, you are directly in a tiny hallway faced with the living/dining area and past the modern kitchen area, the latter being fully equipped to help you prepare your meal.
The room is bright and has two large windows where you have sweeping views over the Tagus River and the Alfama rooftops below.

Its simple but welcoming decor, its large comfortable sofa that converts into a double bed, its small antique chairs all invite you to relax. There is also a TV connected to cable.

Both comfortable and functional, the bedroom has a large 140cm bed. Finally the bathroom, clad in grey and green mosaic, has a shower, toilet, and washbasin.

In winter, central heating is provided.

So prepare for a pleasant stay in a very popular setting!

Alfama

Alfama

If you come to Lisbon, you cannot miss Alfama, one of the most picturesque and historical medieval neighborhood, a mesh of small tiny streets, cul-de-sacs and stone stairs. Here lives a mixed population, people of all ages, “true” lisboners or lost tourists come to visit or to listen Fado. Like in many other places in Lisbon, you’ll find here also some of the most spectacular viewpoints of the Tagus river and the city. Here you can still find various forms of traditional commerce, as well as nice quaint little restaurants and bars. From the apartment you can walk to the majority of the most popular sightseeing destinations, such as the “Castelo de S. Jorge” the “Sé” or the “Baixa Pombalina”. For transportation, walk, or go down to Santa Apolónia the main train station and its recently opened metro station, or use the popular tram n°28 that zigzags through Alfama and pursues its trip up and down the hills of Lisbon. Although of restricted access by car, there are several parking facilities nearby.

    If you want to have a real taste of Lisbon, this is the place for you. The apartment is cosy and well-equipped, there is plenty of natural light and the view on Alfama and the Tagus is fantastic.     Tiene muy buenas vistas e iluminación. Los ambientes son muy amplios y el baño es completo y cómodo.  La ubicación es en un barrio muy tranquilo de la Alfama y cerca de allí hay varios lugares para cenar tranquilos y acompañado de Fado Juan Carlos, Spain 14 October 2010

    Die Wohnung liegt direkt unterhalb des Aussichtspunktes Miradouro in der Amalfa mit wunderbarem Ausblick auf den Tejo, modern ausgestattet mit jeglichem Komfort. Die Ambiente rund um die Wohnung ist unbeschreiblich, man ist quasi Teil der Führung durch die Altstadt. Nachts ist es absolut ruhig und erholsamer kann man nicht schlafen. Monica, die Vermieterin, ist absolut zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Besser könnte man es mit einem Apartement nicht treffen.
