Living room and terrace with backdrop of the Bairro Alto rooftops

As soon as you cross the entrance door of this magnificent duplex, you find yourself in a world of the purest design, with deliberate choice of a monochromatic resolutely white color palette, allowing for just a few patches in shades of beige.
Climb just a few steps further and experience the full measure of the beauty of this space, with its magnificent sunny terrace, all covered in teak and with an unblocked view over the rooftops of the city. An invitation to enjoying all together some beautiful relaxing moments after days spent exploring the city!

The apartment:

It's right in the midst of the Bairro Alto, one of the liveliest areas once night falls, where you will find this beautiful 130m2 duplex. Entirely redone and located on the 3rd floor

without elevator

of a typical building of this part of the city, the Bairro Terrace is all set to accommodate up to four people. Here, one learns what clear cut harmony, white elegance, and pure natural light all really mean.

The whole house, is set to contemporary interior decor, tending towards infinite whiteness, and enhanced here and there by colored frames featuring beautiful photos of tiles (azulejos) from different areas. A comfortable corner sofa in natural linen tones is the only splash of color to this fluid and airy space. Nothing less than six glass doors allow for maximum natural light, while spacial barriers have been removed with no strict partitions: one can easily float from the living room, to the dining room, and to the kitchen without having to open any doors.
The kitchen, also in purest white, is bathed in natural light and counts on most modern appliances to allow you to prepare your meals, which you can savor at the large transparent table surrounded by leather covered chairs.

The bedroom found on this same level, attains privacy thanks to sliding panel walls that close the space off. The bathroom, with a large shower and large wardrobes, is hidden behind a wall which also serves as headboard to the bed. Up a beautiful light wooden staircase, you reach the second bedroom, which opens wide onto the terrace, and counts on an elegant and fully slate covered bathroom.
Air conditioning will provide heating in the winter and coolness in the summertime.

And finally, for all those who can't live without Internet, ADSL wireless connection is available at no extra cost.

The apartement is within a car-restricted area where only taxis and residents' cars can enter. If you come by car you will only have a foot access and must park your car outside the area.

For your future stay in Lisbon, the Bairro Terrace will be your next luxury stop.

Bairro Alto

Bairro Alto is the best known part of Lisbon. Everybody has heard or read of this strange area, located at the top of one of the seven hills of Lisbon. Forming a grid of narrow streets, the part of the city is famous for being a nightlife hot spot, starting its activity early with shopping in Portuguese fashion designers shops and galleries, continuing with any type of restaurants and finally at dark with numerous bars, discotecas or Fado houses full of people until the following morning. The rest of Lisbon is also so close !The Bairro Alto has a very central position, it is then so easy to walk to Chiado and go downstairs to Rossio and Baixa or with the Gloria funicular.

Everything was just perfect.  Location, equipment, just everything. The most special was the terrace, right in the hart of Lisbon.
Because the appartment is in the hart of the Bairro Alto district, it is noisy outside. For us that was not a problem at all, but I can imagine that when you look for a quiet appartment, don't book this one.

The terrace is a treat. We loved it and it made the apartment very special. Ashley, United Kingdom 17 August 2010

The terrace was amazing. The apartment itself was really nice, sober, very good standing.
It was noisy from midnight to 4am, and this was not mentionned in the web description. This must be corrected as it can be a problem for people (especially compared to the high price).

Location was fantastic, though a little complicated for car access (however this was well indicated on the site) and even some taxis had dificulties finding the street.  Beautiful terrace.  Well equipped and extremely stylish and discreet furnishing.
Nothing really but a few suggestions:  - the staircase is beautiful but dangerous! Someone could take a tumble down. - the noise levels at night are to be expected in a location in the middle of Bairro Alto but visitors who do not know this about the area could get an unpleasant surprise.
