A cosy duplex in the heart of Alfama



You will be charmed to stay in the heart of Alfama, the oldest and also one of the most popular city districts, at the foot of Santo Estevão church, in a small old, but entirely renovated building. The apartment occupies the 2nd and 3rd floor and will easily accommodate a family or a group of friends. It will be your starting point for your tourist activities in Lisbon, close to Museum of Fado and Portuguese Guitar, only 5 min. from Santa Apolónia’ subway and train station. Nearby you can find taverns, typical restaurants and Fado houses but also small grocery shops and all sorts of traditional establishments revealing an ancient Lisbon.

The apartment:



The Duplex Estevão is a small apartment of 60m² area, at the same time comfortable and well arranged. On the first level, it features a lovely double bedroom, nicely decorated with grey, black and white colors, simple furniture, TV and DVD. On the same level, a modern shower room with basin and toilet. A modern and fully equipped kitchen where you can prepare all your meals to be served on the square kitchen table.
A wood staircase takes you to the upper level, an open space dedicated to a double bed room and a living corner, with a sofa that can be transformed into an extra bed for two children, a TV and DVD.
From the window, you will appreciate a very nice view over the city roofs. Another modern shower room with basin and toilet. is also on this level.

In winter, you have electrical heaters.

A lovely place to stay in an historical environment a few steps from all Lisbon tourist spots !

The apartement is within a car-restricted area where only taxis and residents' cars can enter. If you come by car you will only have access by foot and must park your car outside the area.

Alfama

If you come to Lisbon, you cannot miss Alfama, one of the most picturesque and historical medieval neighborhood, a mesh of small tiny streets, cul-de-sacs and stone stairs. Here lives a mixed population, people of all ages, “true” lisboners or lost tourists come to visit or to listen Fado. Like in many other places in Lisbon, you’ll find here also some of the most spectacular viewpoints of the Tagus river and the city. Here you can still find various forms of traditional commerce, as well as nice quaint little restaurants and bars. From the apartment you can walk to the majority of the most popular sightseeing destinations, such as the “Castelo de S. Jorge” the “Sé” or the “Baixa Pombalina”. For transportation, walk, or go down to Santa Apolónia the main train station and its recently opened metro station, or use the popular tram n°28 that zigzags through Alfama and pursues its trip up and down the hills of Lisbon. Although of restricted access by car, there are several parking facilities nearby.
