Here you are in the very heart of the Mouraria district, a popular district between the Baixa Pombalina and the São Jorge Castle hill, the most visited monument in Portugal. From the Duplex Mouraria Apartment, and whichever direction you take, you’ll find History, good restaurants and monuments to visit in the city.

The apartment:



The Duplex Mouraria is situated right in the middle of those stairs and alleys coming from the Baixa and going up to the castle São Jorge. The duplex flat is on the 3rd floor of a completely renovated building and has been completely remodelled to offer the best modern comfort inside this small 17th century house.
The apartment is sweet and warmly decorated, its windows open directly over the neighbours' roofs. The living room and dining area is bright and in a corner you will find a modern kitchen, fully equipped with modern appliances. There is also a complete bathroom with hydro-massage shower.
The central wooden stairs leads you to the upper level and its attic bedroom, with a fantastic large round bed. From its two attic skyline windows you can gaze over the cotu rooftops for hours. The large sofa bed in the lounge can accommodate 2 additional persons. There is accommodation for a party of 4 in this charming pied-à-terre hidden in the streets of old Lisbon.

The apartment provides electric heating during the winter and is equipped with internet WIFI. A TV with cable channels and a stereo are also at your disposal for evenings when you decide to stay home.

Castelo

The neighborhood of Costa do Castelo features some of the most spectacular viewpoints of Lisbon. If you simply stroll around for a quick 30 minute walk, you will have views over most of the city and the Tagus river. Should you go up to the terraces of the São Jorge Castle, Lisbon will lie underneath at your feet. From here, turn towards the ocean and spend hours just watching the perfect geometry of the Baixa Pombalina. The Miradouro of Santa Luzia, just in front of Largo das Portas do Sol is only a few hundreds of meters away, so is the sector of Alfama in its vicinity of the Tagus. In the Baixa, a 5 minute walk from here, you’ll find a very busy shopping area where typical portuguese shops stand next to those with the newest brands of the market.

    L'appartement était très propre et très bien équipé, l'appartement est joli et l'on s'y sent bien. L'appartement est très bien situé.
    l'escalier pour accéder de la place à la rue de l'appartement est assez glauque,ce qui ne donne pas trop confiance quand l'on arrive. Mais en fait nous n'avons eu aucun problème et une fois dans l'appartement l'on oublie ce désagrément.     Agathe, France 03 September 2010
