Relax and watch the Tagus River from home !
A few steps away from the Santa Catarina viewpoint, the Miradouro says it all. With its astonishing views over the river and the Cristo Rei and its art boho feel interior, the apartment Miradouro will make you feel like having a good book to read or listen to cool music while watching the splendid sunset over the bridge. Here you have it all for those who enjoy strolling around the city, as most of the touristic spotlights are around the corner.
The apartment:
This typical 19th century building has kept its original straight wooden stairs climbing to the 2d floor (without elevator) where the Miradouro apartment is located. But the views you’ve got from the windows of the lounge and the sleeping room over the city roofs, the 25th April bridge and the river are worth the effort !
The flat is very sunny. The owners have arranged it in such a lovely way with a mix of vintage small furniture and lots of paintings hanging on the wall or simply on the floor. The main lounge room is at the same time a dining room and a pleasant living room with a comfortable sofa, a TV set and stereo equipment. Easily accommodating a couple, you have a separate bedroom with a large bed and floor to ceiling windows overlooking the tagus bay. There is also a small but very nice bathroom with a shower.
The kitchen is fully equipped and awaits experienced chefs, unless you prefer going out for dinner in one of the many nearby portuguese restaurants.
The apartment comes with heat for the winter period which is always very mild in Lisbon.
Whether you are in Lisbon for business or vacation the Miradouro apartment with its excellent location, is also a very good starting point to experience the nightlife of Bairro Alto, while hidden away in this peaceful and residential area. In other words a great choice for your visit.

Santa Catarina
In tourist guides, Santa Catarina area is famous for its viewpoint overlooking the Tagus river and the lower part of the city. But likewise the Bairro Alto next door, it is a typical neighbourhood with tiny streets, stairs and reckons. Here we are in the upper part of the city in a true historical area, also famous for its tramway 28 and adjacent to the entertaining Bairro Alto. Since it is a car transit restricted zone, you should enjoy the calmness of the day-to-day life of local citizens. But don’t be afraid of being isolated, the tramway is in the next street, the elevator Bica can also give you a ride to the lower part of the city; and 300 meters away starts the shopping zone of Chiado with the praça Luis Camões. Should you go the other direction, typical streets will lead you to the Parliament house in São Bento, a place for antiques shops.
