In the Bairro Alto, with magnificent views over the Tagus
The Merces apartment is truly superbly located, in the quiet lower part of the Bairro Alto, a very famous nightlife spot with trendy bars and restaurants and fashion shops, while very close to the Chiado and all means of transportation: tram, buses, funicular and subway. The Merces apartment is located on the 4th floor (no elevator) of an old building, which has a tile covered facade, something typical of Lisbon.
The apartment:
With its 65 m2 area, this apartment will comfortably welcome you with its simple decor: tiled floors, white and red painted walls, antique wooden furniture. It is ideal for a family or a group of friends as it can accommodate up to 4 people. From all living/dining room windows you will enjoy spectacular views over the Tagus. You can dine at this room's wooden table, comfortably installed in a wicker chair, while watching the boats sail by. From the easy-chair, you will never get tired of watching the sunsets over the river. You can even prepare your meals from the open kitchen, without losing any of the views granted. The kitchen has all the appliances needed to cook any meals.
The fully tiled bathroom has a small bath, toilet and sink.
The master bedroom, with Tagus views, has a double bed, a large wardrobe, and an antique bench. The other bedroom, with city views, has a double bed and cupboards. From this room a small staircase takes you up to a tiny turret from where you will have another point of view over the Tagus and the city.
If you decide to stay at the Merces apartment, lose yourself in the surrounding streets and alleys and don't miss out on the spirit of Lisbon! In the evening, enjoy a drink in one of the countless welcoming bars of the Bairro Alto, the heart of Lisbon nightlife.

Bairro Alto
Bairro Alto is the best known part of Lisbon. Everybody has heard or read of this strange area, located at the top of one of the seven hills of Lisbon. Forming a grid of narrow streets, the part of the city is famous for being a nightlife hot spot, starting its activity early with shopping in Portuguese fashion designers shops and galleries, continuing with any type of restaurants and finally at dark with numerous bars, discotecas or Fado houses full of people until the following morning. The rest of Lisbon is also so close !The Bairro Alto has a very central position, it is then so easy to walk to Chiado and go downstairs to Rossio and Baixa or with the Gloria funicular.

Almost everything. Lisbonne was a big surprise and the apartment was in the best location. The girl who waited for us late at night for the check-in was helpful and very friendly. She stayed with us like an hour trying to explain everything we need to know about the city and in french. The apartement was very clean big with good furnitures.
