A short distance from the Tagus river, the Janelas Verdes apartment is a nice apartment overlooking a typical Santos neighbourhood square which is becoming the Design district of Lisbon with many contemporary decoration stores, art galleries, restaurants and hype night-clubs. Between Santos and Lapa, come and have a taste of the Lisbon life in this lower part of the city by the Tagus river. Enjoy the calm of this residential area, (at a) walking distance from the typical and popular streets of Madragoa. You will both appreciate the charm of the cobbled streets of Santos and the immediate proximity of all the centres of interest in the Portuguese capital city. The Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga (National Museum of Ancient Art) is only a few hundred meters away, you are 6 stops by tram or bus away from Praça do Comercio and a five minute walk to the river front. Santos is the new « Design » district of the city and is known for its multi-personality environments where in the same day you can be at the park, visit an Art Gallery, enjoy a nice meal by the river and dance all night in one of the many bars and night-clubs. Here the charming N°25 yellow tramways are still circulating. There are many restaurants, cafés and Portuguese shops around and you can even experience the Market of Ribeira a few minutes away, and buy freshly caught fish from Setubal or gorgeous fruit and vegetables.

This flat is a few steps away from the popular district of Madragoa, next to the Palacetes of the Janelas Verdes street. It will be the starting point for your nightlife in Santos, the new fashionable place for young lisboners.

On the 2nd floor (no elevator) of a classical end of 19th century building, the Janelas Verdes apartment is spacious and very bright, ideal to accommodate a family of four or two couples or friends. The first bedroom by the street has a double bed and the other one overlooking the garden at the back has twin beds. For your comfort, there is a lovely all-white bathroom with a bathtub and fresh towels and a well equipped kitchen which has maintained it’s original stone fireplace.

The living room windows open onto the trees and flowers of the Santos-o-Velho church square, and the oldish n°25 tramway passes by the back. Relax after a long day of sightseeing on the large and comfortable sofa, listening to a music CD !
