This charming duplex flat with its delicious flower garden is located on the slopes of the Graça hill, in front of the São Jorge Castle. You are in the medieval part of Lisbon, a few steps away from the castle, the most visited monument in Portugal but also next to many restaurants and the main points of interest for tourists. The typical tramways of Lisbon pass by at your feet.

The area surrounding the apartment:

The neighbourhood of Costa do Castelo features some of the most spectacular viewpoints of Lisbon. If you simply stroll around for a quick 30 minute walk, you will have views over most of the city and the Tagus river. Should you go up to the terraces of the São Jorge Castle, Lisbon will lie underneath your feet. From here, turn towards the ocean and spend hours just watching the perfect geometry of the Baixa Pombalina, watch the people moving through the narrow streets going up the Chiado to Bairro Alto. This neighbourhood is very typical, filled with tiny local shops, old people sitting on their doorsteps and giving you their warm welcome in Portuguese ! From the apartment, you will be a few steps away from the Praça da Figueira, “twin” square of Praça do Rossio in the Baixa where you’ll find a very busy shopping area with typical Portuguese shops standing next to those with the newest brands on the market.

The apartment:

Another unique and fancy experience to live in Lisbon: have your own garden in the very center of the city ! This is what the Jardim do Castelo apartment is all about, even though it is located on the 3rd floor of a renovated house. To access the garden and it's 50sqm terrace you will have to go to the second level of the duplex apartment because the building is built on the hill of Graça just in front of the São Jorge Castle. Therefore views are fantastic from the top as you can imagine, it is a perfect place to have a drink or sunbathe.

The flat decoration has been recently renewed in a contemporary style with a mix of vintage furniture from the 50’s to 70’s. The first level of this 70sqm duplex comprises a living room with a comfortable double sofa bed, plus a dining corner, a TV with cable channels and radio. In a corner you will find the well equipped kitchen which has maintained the stone fireplace. A bedroom has a double bed and the bright bathroom cleverly installed on this level complete with a bathtub.

The second floor has a small room with an extra sofa bed for an additional person.
