At the doors of the São Jorge Castle

In the medieval part of Lisbon, a few steps away from Alfama and the castle, the most visited monument in Portugal but also next to many restaurants and the main points of interest for tourists, come and discover this small and cosy flat with its bedroom upstairs.

The area surrounding the apartment:

The neighbourhood of Costa do Castelo features some of the most spectacular viewpoints of Lisbon. If you simply stroll around for a quick 30 minute walk, you will have views over most of the city and the Tagus river. Should you go up to the terraces of the São Jorge Castle, Lisbon will lie underneath at your feet. From here, turn towards the ocean and spend hours just watching the perfect geometry of the Baixa Pombalina, see the people moving among the narrow streets going up the Chiado to Bairro Alto. The neighbourhood is very typical, popular even with tiny groceries and other shops, its old persons sitting at their doorstep and giving you their warm welcome in Portuguese !

The apartment:

The Castelo accommodation is on the ground floor of one of those old houses around the São Jorge Castle which is very quiet since the area is restricted for car transit.

The room downstairs is at the same time a living room and a dining room with a kitchen corner. The original stone stairs leading to the first floor were maintained. Upstairs is the bedroom with a ceiling of low beams, a large bed and cushions by the windows. The bathroom with a shower is located under the stairs.

The apartment is within a car-restricted area where only taxis and residents' cars can enter. If you come by car you will only have a foot access and must park your car outside the area.
