Embedded in a traditional house of this famous Bairro Alto, such a popular and touristic neighbourhood, be ready for a stay in the middle of a trendy, artistic, very animated, sometimes noisy and cosmopolitan city area with plenty of restaurants, bars, night clubs and fado houses next door.

The apartment:



Located in one of the most famous streets of Bairro Alto, the Atalaia apartment occupies the second floor of a traditional building, a house with steep wooden stairs! Here you can come with friends or family and enjoy the space for up to 7 persons because the accommodation has three bedrooms and an extra bed sofa in the living room. Always with a delicate and cosy decoration, two bedrooms have double beds, the third one features two single beds. Only one bedroom opens to the street, another one onto a small and calm gallery at the back of the house. For your convenience, there are two bathrooms with showers and a washing machine.

In a corner of the living room, stands a glass dining table ready for you to take meals in family. Sitting in the sofa, with air conditioning on, enjoy listening music or watching your favourite TV programme, WIFI internet. Overlooking the street, two small balconies will be mostly used by the unconditional smokers. At last the kitchen kept a large stone fireplace and offers a pleasant space for cooking your meals. Unless you prefer going out to one of the numerous restaurants of the area…

The apartment is within a car-restricted area where only taxis and residents' cars can enter. If you come by car you will only have a foot access and must park your car outside the area.

If you stay at the Atalaia Apartment, wander through the paved car-free streets and alleys and enter the spirit of Lisbon life ! In the evening you’ll have a drink and enjoy yourself in one of the several bars which make "Bairro Alto" the centre of Lisbon nightlife.

Bairro Alto

Bairro Alto is the best known part of Lisbon. Everybody has heard or read of this strange area, located at the top of one of the seven hills of Lisbon. Forming a grid of narrow streets, the part of the city is famous for being a nightlife hot spot, starting its activity early with shopping in Portuguese fashion designers shops and galleries, continuing with any type of restaurants and finally at dark with numerous bars, discotecas or Fado houses full of people until the following morning. The rest of Lisbon is also so close !The Bairro Alto has a very central position, it is then so easy to walk to Chiado and go downstairs to Rossio and Baixa or with the Gloria funicular.

    Het appartement is goed bevallen. De service van frienly rental was perfect omdat wij plotseling een dag eerder aankwamen als gevolg van een staking op het vliegveld. Ook de opvang was perfect, goede en volledige uitleg. De lokatie was perfect, midden in het uitgaanscentrum.
    DE fotos suggereren dat het appartement er iets mooiert uitziet dan in werkelijkheid. Op de fotos staat een losse stoel die er niet is. De bank ziet er op de foto goed uit maar in werkelijkheid ligt er een lap overheen omdat hij versleten is en hij is dootgezakt. Op de fotos staat een glazen eettafel met 6 stoelen, in werkelijkheid zijn er maar 5 stoelen voor een appartement dat voor 7 personen geschikt is. De deurknoppen zitten los en vallen eraf dus goed opletten dat je je zelf niet opsluit. In de keuken ontbrak in onze opinie een citruspers. Bij aankomst waren er voor 6 personen slechts 6 handoeken. Na een speurtocht in het appartement vonden we in de bakken onder het bed nog meer handdoeken. Dit had best verteld mogen worden. In het algemeen verdient het aanbeveling als het appartement eens kritisch wordt bekeken en op een aantal punten even wordt verbeterd.     De plek was leuk en de ruimteverdeling was prima voor 6 personen. Het is wel erg lawaaierig in de straat, maar dat wisten we van tevoren. Het appartement is leuk ingericht en oogt ruim door alle spiegels.
    Cheque in: We werden zeer gehaast ontvangen en de dame kende het appartement slecht. Ze kon ons b.v niet uitleggen hoe de verwarming en de TV werkte. Er waren lampen stuk. Ze zei dat ze maandag terug zou komen om die te vervangen. Niemand gezien.Beloof het dan niet. Matig ingerichte keuken. Te weinig kookspullen voor 6 personen (b.v een piepkleine koekenpan)Geen scherp mes,kapotte blikopener etc. Koffiezet apparaat was kapot. Een van de douches liep niet door.       Liesbeth, Netherlands, the 27 February 2012

    Beste Lage, sehr freundliche und zuvorkommende Vermieterin, gemütliche Wohnung, fantastischer Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge in alle Himmelsrichtungen in einer großartigen und lebendigen Stadt!
