The 3 bedroom Picoas apartment is combining the comfort of a 70’s building with elevator, the pleasure of living among paintings, etching prints and of spending good time ouside on a terrace. Nicely located in the modern part of Lisbon, a few blocks away from the Eduardo VII Park, various shopping malls but also the Gulbenkian Museum, it allows a large choice of visits around but also an easy connection to the historical centre.

The area surrounding the apartment:

The neighbourhood of the apartment is what is called « Grandes avenidas » the traditional modern business centre of Lisbon with large avenues bordered with trees, linking in-town parks like Eduardo VII Park in the continuity of the avenida da Liberdade or the garden of the Gulbenkian Foundation which surrounds the museum of same name. This museum is a « must » of all types of art gathered by a distinguished collectioner Calouste Gulbenkian ; you must visit it, you will be surprised ! The area has all facilities of a modern city with restaurants, shopping centres, cinemas, cultural centres like the Instituto Franco Português, Culturgest or the Campo Pequeno bullrings and transportation means like metro or buses which go to all other parts of the capital..

The apartment:

Located in a quiet tree-bordered stret, the building of the Picoas apartment is only 5 minutes from the Praça Marques de Pombal, true heart of the capital and very close to several elegant shopping malls with nice shops and cinemas. To go to the historical centre, take a bus or the metro just around the corner.

On 3rd floor with elevator, this vast flat has a small terrace which in return gives brightness and a good reason to have a drink ouside at night. Very functional this accommodation features 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms allowing a capacity up to 7 persons, a group of friends or a family. On every wall, have a look at the paintings, lithographies or sculptures and ceramics that the owner collects, many are by portuguese artists.

The living room kept its nice dark wood floor, good combination with the bridge table and the dining table in pure Art Deco style. A double pullout sofabed will accomodate sleeping for a couple if necessary. The living opens over to the terrace like the first bedroom with a double bed and large closets. Each bedroom has its own identity with colours and spirit, for example the second bedroom has a giant painting heading the double bed. An excentric original bathroom with portuguese ceramic tiles separates the two bedrooms and includes a bathtub. The third bedroom is smaller, in green tones with a single bed and its own bathroom with shower.

The kitchen and its dining corner are equipped for those who prefer make their own meals instead of dining out. In the back, there is a covered balcony with green plants.

The Picoas apartment has central heating, telephone and ADSL internet (with supplement).
