If you come to Lisbon, you cannot miss Alfama, one of the most picturesque and historical medieval neighborhood, a mesh of small tiny streets, cul-de-sacs and stone stairs. Here lives a mixed population, people of all ages, “true” lisboners or lost tourists come to visit or to listen Fado. Since cars can hardly enter, it is a quiet neighborhood that keeps its old world charm. Like in many other places in Lisbon, you’ll find here also some of the most spectacular viewpoints of the Tagus river and the city. Here you can still find various forms of traditional commerce, as well as nice quaint little restaurants and bars. From the apartment you can walk to the majority of the most popular sightseeing destinations, such as the “Castelo de S. Jorge” the “Sé” or the “Baixa Pombalina”. For transportation, walk, or go down to Praça do Comercio and its recently opened metro station, or use the popular tram n°28 that zigzags through Alfama and pursues its trip up and down the hills of Lisbon. Although of difficult access by car, there are several parking facilities nearby.

In this picturesque district of the capital next to the Tagus river, the famous casa dos Bicos (a house with a remarkable stone frontage) and also close to the Sé Cathedral, The Santarem apartment is located on the third floor of an old building totally restaured. It has only kept its tiled frontage that are traditionnals of the city.

All inside the building is modern with a lift to get access to the flat. The apartment, all wooden floor, is very quiet and spacious, over a total area of 75m2. It has been well renovated with simplicity and good comfort. With a double bed in the bedroom and 2 sofa beds in the dining-living room, it can accommodate up to 4 persons. You can take all yours meals in the dining room. It also features a fully equipped and large kitchen, a bathroom with bath.

In wintertime it is heated with central heating.
