The Martini apartment looks onto an historic square in the heart of the most authentic part Florence where the magical atmosphere, which has been somewhat lost to tourism elsewhere, still resides. Beautifully arranged to welcome four people it is the perfect choice for a couple and small families in the city for pleasure or for business.
The apartment:
Located on the 3rd floor of an evocative building without elevator access (approximately 52 steps), the Martini apartment is laid out across two levels and welcomes guests into a space rich in sophistication and atmosphere. The stylish furnishings, with an emphasis on elegant furniture, its incredible spaciousness and the decorative details all lend a strong emphasis to a traditional ambience, whilst maintaining the practicalities of modern life.
On the first level you will find the kitchen and the living-room, which is furnished with two sofas (one of which turns into a double bed for the 3rd guest), a coffee table, a TV and an antique corner cupboard. The compact kitchen is well equipped and opens onto an alcove with a Fratino-style table, bench, chairs and a designer fridge.
A lovely staircase with an exposed profile leads upstairs, where a attic-style room awaits, beautifully framed by wooden floors and a magnificent sloping ceiling with wooden beams. This level houses the sleeping area, which is romantic and welcoming, and is furnished with a double bed, a chest of drawers, a study corner and a gorgeous bathroom, which is sleek and minimalistic in style and is fitted with a shower.

Oltrarno
The name Oltrarno means “beyond the Arno” and this district along the south bank of the river presents a difference Florence. Quieter, greener, more relaxed, and with less traffic, it is one of the most rewarding areas where to stay in Florence.
Traditionally an artisans’ quarter Oltrano is still home of small workshops (particularly furniture stores and leather-workers) and Via di Maggio remains the focus of Florence’s thriving antiques trade. Then, it also became a rather chic area for aristocrats to build palaces on the edge of the countryside. The largest of these, the Pitti Palace, became the home of the grand dukes and today houses a set of museums second only to the Uffizi. Among the major sights, the Cappella Brancacci stands out for its fabulous fresco cycle and San Miniato counts among Tuscany’s finest Romanesque treasures. Here you can also discover the Boboli Gardens, Florence’s best park.
