Graceful, romantic and comfortable loft at the foot of piazzale Michelangelo.

The Mira II apartment is located on Florence's left bank, along the Arno. From here you can walk up the steep “Costa San Giorgio” climb or take the very pleasant 19th century step path “delle Rampe”. This route will lead you around some of the monumental collections of great artistic worth, and to the nooks and crannies of a selection of the most ancient parts of Florence. Ideal apartment for a couple looking for a romantic retreat or for a small family wishing to get to know the true soul of Florence.

The apartment:

The Mira II apartment is on the third floor of a charming, stately building

without elevator access (approximately 54 steps to the apartment).

Bright and welcoming, the apartment is ornamented by a magnificent ceiling with wooden beams, and windows that treat you to glimpses of the sky and a beautiful view over Florence's rooftops.

The apartment welcomes you into a large and wonderfully organized room, which takes full advantage the available space. In the large living room area there are two armchairs and a sofa that converts into a double bed for the 3rd and 4th guest, a TV, a desk, bookshelves, and a built-in wardrobe. There is a wooden counter with stools which serves as the dining area and works as a visual frontier to the kitchen area, which is compact, practical and well equipped. A soft curtain encloses the lovely alcove area where there is an elegant double bed. Two steps lead to the bathroom, with a bathtub, which is decorated in a lovely pastel green colour. The Mira II apartment is also equipped with air conditioning, independent heating, flat screen TV, and washing-machine, in order to offer our guests an adequate level of comfort.
Please note that the Mira II apartment is located in the same building of the Mira apartment and therefore allows for the possibility that large groups of friends or relatives who wish to spend their holidays together in the same building can do so, while at the same time maintaining their own privacy.

The Mira II apartment is a romantic accommodation whose rich ambiance will make you leave behind, for once, the rush and the frenetic pace of modern life, and enjoy to the fullest your holiday in Florence, the city birthplace of art and the Italian Renaissance.

Oltrarno

The name Oltrarno means “beyond the Arno” and this district along the south bank of the river presents a difference Florence. Quieter, greener, more relaxed, and with less traffic, it is one of the most rewarding areas where to stay in Florence.
Traditionally an artisans’ quarter Oltrano is still home of small workshops (particularly furniture stores and leather-workers) and Via di Maggio remains the focus of Florence’s thriving antiques trade. Then,  it also became a rather chic area for aristocrats to build palaces on the edge of the countryside. The largest of these, the Pitti Palace, became the home of the grand dukes and today houses a set of museums second only to the Uffizi. Among the major sights, the Cappella Brancacci stands out for its fabulous fresco cycle and San Miniato counts among Tuscany’s finest Romanesque treasures. Here you can also discover the Boboli Gardens, Florence’s best park.
But to discover the true character of Florence, step into the side streets, brimful of tiny authentic restaurants and bars (like in Piazza Santo Spirito), antique shops and artisans’ studios.
