A central hideaway in the heart of Barcelona.
This cosy and perfectly situated apartment is a perfect base to explore all Barcelona has to offer. Central to all the major tourist attractions of the old town and gothic quarter, any guest will be glad of the location.
The area surrounding the apartment:
The Dalí IV apartment is situated in the heart of the Barrio Gótico (Gothic Quarter) which really is the true heart of Barcelona. It is located on Paseo de Colon amidst a concentration of medieval Gothic buildings only a few blocks from Paseo del Born. This area is a maze of interconnecting dark streets linking with squares, and there are plenty of cafés and bars. The apartment itself is across the street from the Port, just two blocks from the amazing gothic church of Santa Maria del Mar, near the Picasso Museum, the Cathedral, Las Ramblas and the wonderful shopping area called Portal del'Angel....
The apartment:
The Dalí IV apartment has been completely renovated while carefully conserving the original charm of its 1900s architecture. This 2nd floor apartment (with elevator) is perfect for a couple, a couple with a child or a small group of friends. The bedroom area is the main focus of the apartment and has a double sized bed (160 x 200) and a comfortable couch, as well as two single beds (80 x 200) for the 3rd and 4th guests that can also be used for seating when one bed is stored under the other when not in use; this can also be set up as a double bed - this area can also be made private by closing the doors. The great decor and attention to detail in the Dalí IV apartment make it a really comfortable and relaxing choice for your visit to Barcelona.
One of the nicest features of this apartment is the original 14th Century gothic window which was a lovers corner in it's day... a place where courting couples would sit and and get to know each other under the watchful eyes of their guardians...
Please note that all guests will need to access the bathroom through the second sleeping area, as the bathroom is en-suite to this area......
The kitchen of this great apartment is fully equipped with dishwasher, oven, coffee-maker, blender, juicer, toaster and all the comforts of home. There is plenty of closet space and a modern design bathroom in the apartment which caters to all your needs, even providing a hairdryer. Bed linens, bathroom paper and clean towels are all provided.
This area is a must when visiting Barcelona, and the apartment is an ideal base for exploring the city!

Barrio Gotico
The Barrio Gotico or Gothic Quarter is the heart of old town Barcelona and one of the best preserved medieval quarters in Europe, with various Roman remains to be found. The area itself is a body of pedestrian, interconnecting, narrow cobble stoned streets where you can wander around aimlessly for hours, taking in all the wonderful bars and cafes, restaurants and shops… as well as Barcelona’s very famous “La Catedral” (gothic cathedral) which is magnificent and a must see for all visitors. There is another very distinguished - but less visited Gothic church in this area also, the Santa Maria del Pi. The quiet and attractive Plaça del Pi in front of the church is filled with bars and restaurants with outside seating where a cup of coffee goes down well while watching the quirky street performers which congregate to entertain the visitors most days.
The Municipal government (Ajuntament) and Catalan regional government (Generalitat) are in this area standing opposite each other. Within walking distance from the Gothic Quarter are the famous Las Ramblas, the Liceu opera house, Barcelona City Hall in Placa Jaume, as well as the remains of the old Roman Walls coupled with many more treats from Barcelona's ancient and medieval past.
Plaça Reial is a well known spot, popular for it’s bars and restaurants and visitors can enjoy outdoor meals in one of the many eateries to be found, (beware of pickpockets!!)… Here we find the only work a young Gaudí designed for the city council, the Tres Gràcies fountain in the centre and lamp-posts around the plaza…
Although the Gotico is not as incredibly “cool” as the Born or as bohemian as the Raval, it is nonetheless an essential port of call.
