The area surrounding the apartment:

The El Greco apartment is situated right in the centre of Barcelona, literally minutes' walk from the main Square or Plaça called Plaça Catalunya, the famous Las Ramblas, the old town - or Gothic Quarter - and El Borne. The area surrounding the apartment is pedestrian and contains some of the great shopping streets in Barcelona such as Portal d'Angel, which is about a one minute's walk from Paseo de Gracia, a truly wonderful shopping experience just waiting to happen. Close by is also the Via Laietana, one of the larger streets in Barcelona, from where you can access the Gothic Cathedral and the Gothic Quarter, the very trendy El Borne area and the Old Port Vell; these areas, especially the Gothic Quarter and El Borne, are full of streets where you can wander around aimlessly for hours imagining how it would have looked like back in medieval times.

The closest point of interest to the apartment is the Palau de la Música which is possibly the most dazzling work of modernist architecture present in Barcelona. This is located a mere 100 meters from the apartment building. Other areas of interest within walking distance from the apartment are the famous Las Ramblas, the Liceu opera house, the Barcelona City Hall on Plaça Jaume, the grandiose Gothic Cathedral (one block from the apartment) as well as the remains of the old Roman Walls coupled with many more treats from Barcelona's ancient and medieval past.

The apartment:

The El Greco apartment is located on the first floor of the building, (which is really a 2nd floor - 44 steps - with no elevator like most other buildings in the Old Town of Barcelona). The whole apartment has wonderful parquet floors and has been very tastefully decorated. The living room is welcoming and the combination of strong colours and great characteristics such as the exposed wooden beams, stylish and comfortable furniture, the blending of old with new, allows you to sit back and relax while enjoying the use of TV, DVD player and stereo.

El Greco has one double bedroom where you will find a walk-in wardrobe and a rustic style double bed. Shutter blinds located on the windows can be firmly closed at night time to completely black out light from outside, making your holiday sleep-in a reality. The second bedroom has two single beds that can be placed together into a double bed. Whether you are staying in this great apartment duing the hot summer months or during the winter, you can be assured that the ideal temperature is guaranteed once inside, with the help of the air conditioning and heat unit.

The kitchen in the apartment is modern and fully equipped for your convenience. Appliances like blender, juicer, coffee maker and toaster give the guest a feeling of home.
