The Ramblas I apartment is located on undoubtedly the most cosmopolitan street of Barcelona, with the greatest diversity of people, passers-by, shoppers, tourists, civil servants, big shots, comedians, street musicians and night-birds. Just off La Rambla and close by the apartment, you'll find one of Europe's oldest (indoor) markets: 'El mercat de la Boqueria'. In this typically Spanish setting, you'll find locals as well as tourists looking for queso (cheese), serrano (ham) or aceitunas (olives) and the further in you get the more you feel the old Roman marketplace which used to exist back in the day. Venture further in and you´ll be amazed at the wonderfully varied fish market with colourful jovial women serving behind the counter. The metro stop Liceu is within walking distance from the apartment as well as one of the leading opera lyric houses in Europe the famous Gran Teatre del Liceu.

The apartment:

The Ramblas I apartment is located on the second floor, however, it is a real third floor as many buildings in Barcelona have a "principal" or "entresuelo"; this building does not have an elevator, another common feature in many of these old style buildings... this newly renovated apartment is a blend of rustic and modern elements; it truly is a wonderful apartment with nothing but the highest quality and standards to be found throughout the apartment... it really will make any guest feel completely pampered and extremely comfortable...

The Ramblas I apartment has two bedrooms in total and two really fantastic bathrooms which are a real treat.... Each bedroom comes with two single beds, that can be placed together as shown in the photographs or can be slightly seperated depending on how the guest chooses to have them. Each bedroom is decorated in a fresh, no frills, elegant and simple style... the fantastic exposed wooden beams that are part of the ceilings add a wonderful feel of character and charm to this apartment.. each bedroom comes with wardrobe space for the guests belongings... both bedrooms face the back of the building so ensure a good night's rest and both have windows that allow lots of sunshine in..

Another lovely feature of this apartment are the french windows which open onto small balconies and which allow for the natural light to come into this apartment... the hardwood floors, the excellent taste in decoration all come together to create a very smooth and relaxing atmosphere, where the guest can sit back and relax after a long day of sightseeing or while sipping some great "penedes" wine or some delicious treat from the boqueria should they decide to stay in one night or just before heading out to explore Barcelona at night time....

The living room of the Rambla I apartment is an area that beckons the guest to sit down and relax in one of the very comfortable looking sofas.. here the guests can avail of the TV, DVD, and just sit back and recharge the batteries.... one of these sofas is also a sofa bed for the 5th and 6th guests ...

The kitchen of this truly great apartment is another treat for the guest.. it comes fully equipped with all mod cons and is a very sleek and modern in look.. the guest can prepare a meal should they wish to not eat out on any occassion... here the guest will find a very nice table and six chairs for dining purposes....

The bathrooms of the Rambla I apartment are so nice. They are both full bathrooms, one comes with a bath/shower unit and the other with a very nice shower unit only; both come with toilet, sinks, etc.... fresh towels and paper are provided ready for use upon the guests arrival .....
