Wonderful and very tastefully decorated one bedroom apartment in the heart of the Eixample area, .
This one bedroom apartment really is quite spectacular; it has been recently refurbished and offers a quieter reprieve to the hustle and bustle of the Ciutat Vella. Still conveniently located not far from Las Ramblas and Paseo de Gracia it is a great choice for your visit to Barcelona.
The area surrounding the apartment:
The Manhattan apartment is situated in the heart of Barcelona's Eixample district, the birthplace of the Modernism movement where Antoni Gaudí is considered the leader. When looking to experience Barcelona's world renowned reputation for leading 19th century architecture, this area is king. There are many "must see" attractions in this area, especially the Gaudí sites - the impressive and famous Sagrada Familia, the two famous Gaudí houses La Pedrera and Casa Batlló in the Manzana de la Discordia and the sprawling Hospital de la Santa Creu in Sant Pau - all within walking distance.
The apartment:
The photos above of this superb one bedroom apartment really speak for themselves; the Ceesepe apartment is an absolute must for the visitor who is looking for quality, outstanding decor and a slightly quieter choice of apartment yet still central.
The Manhattan apartment is extremely stylish it its decor, maintaining a modern, sharp and up to the minute look while still making the guest feel welcome and comfortable.
Most of the aparmtent's walls feature exposed brick which has been painted white in most areas but has been kept to its natural look in the bedroom. This room is particularily bright as it has a very large window which allows the visitor to basque in lots of natural light. If, however, the visitor wished to slumber away in the comfortable king size bed there are heavy curtains that make sleep-ins a reality... the sidetables and reading lights of the bedroom are also very modern and unusual, as well as the POP ART used to decorate and add colour to the bedroom. A feature to be found throughout the apartment is the great use of POP ART and other modern paintings, which add great colour to each area of the apartment!
The high standard and decor of the apartment has been maintained throughout, as can clearly be seen from the photos above. The living/dining area of the apartment is fabulous; the clever use of contrasting colours such as black and white, in combination with the warm caramel tones of the sofa make this area extremely inviting and a pleasant area to spend some time chilling out (the sofa is a double pull out sofa bed, perfect for the 3rd and 4th guests to sleep in); or listening to some music on the state of the art music system or catching a movie on the DVD or having some fun with the MP3 - the tall standing black shelving unit gives it a feel of being seperate from the dining area. Here the guests can use the funky topped table and four chairs to enjoy whatever meal they decide to prepare in the kitchen.
The kitchen is wonderful, tucked behind the black shelf unit it feels seperate from the rest of the apartment but not isolated. The contrast of black and white make it a very "good looking" kitchen, it is very modern and uncomplicated; it comes with all the mod cons to make your visit a hassle free one.
The bathroom does not disappoint. Perhaps one of the nicest features of the apartment is the glass bricked wall used to seperate this room from the rest of the apartment; it creates an interesting look and feel. Once inside the bathroom the guest will love it! Only the best italian design from the sink to the shower and throughout the bathroom, it will thrill any guest!
The Manhattan apartment is a true delight for any visitor to Barcelona. Not only does the apartment boast a tranquil feel and has plenty of natural light, it is still within walking distance of all the sights Barcelona has to offer!
This Manhattan apartment is one of two apartments in this building; its sister apartment is the Lorca studio. So it could be perfect for a family gathering or a group of friends looking to spend a quiet and quality filled break in Barcelona.
Please note that this apartment is on the first floor, but is a real third floor as there are "principal" and "entresuelo" levels. The building has an elevator.
For quality, super style and comfort the Manhattan apartment is a great choice for your visit to Barcelona!

Eixample (right)
Barcelona´s 19th century Eixample district is the birthplace of the Modernism movement where Antoni Gaudi is considered the leader. When looking to experience Barcelona´s world renowned reputation for leading 19th century architecture, this area is king. With all the Gaudi sites within reach like the grand and impressive famous Sagrada familia, the two famous Gaudi houses of La Perdera and Manzana de la Discordia, the sprawling Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, you´ll spend hours rambling along and looking upwards. This grid-patterned area was created in the 19th century to accommodate the overflowing population from old Barcelona; luckily this coincided with Barcelona’s golden age of architecture.. Gaudí, Puig I Cadafalch, Domènech I Montaner were employed by the wealthy to build townhouses, each one more daring than the last…
The Eixample district is divided in two, the Eixample Dreta (right side) and Eixample Esquerra (left side), this divide is marked by Passeig de Gracia, a highly sophisticated shopping street…..
A large part of the Eixample’s attraction includes all the shops, restaurants, cafes and bars to be found… Passeig de Gracias alone will keep any visitor entertained for hours, but all the side streets are full of great stores, theatres, cafes with people everywhere, shopping, relaxing and enjoying an aperitif with friends and family…
EIXAMPLE DRETA (RIGHT)
This area of the Eixample came first and is full of fabulous Modernista works, such as Gaudí’s Casa Batlló, Puig I Cadafalch’s Casa Amatller and Domènech i Muntaner`s Lleó Morera famously referred to as the Manzana de la Discordia…..
To the east of the city centre we can find another massive, towering example of Gaudí’s creativity, the Sagrada Familia; still under construction and will most likely continue to be so for a long time to come … it is full of symbolism and meaning. This amazing creation never disappoints as visitors to Barcelona are awed by it’s imagery and beauty time and time again….
One building which also warrants a mention is the Hospital de Sant Pau, still a functioning hospital to this day and it is probably the most complex example of Modernist architecture….
The Eixmaple dreta is rife with museums such as Fundavió Antoni Tàpies, Museo Egipci de Barcelona and the Fundació Francisco Goddia;
Other buildings of interest include the Palau Macaya, the tiled Mercat de la Concepció, the egg-topped Plaçá de Braus Monumantal and Barcelona’s last active bullring ….
