This beautiful duplex rooftop apartment with amazing terrace and 'chill-out room' is in the heart of the bustling Las Ramblas in Barcelona
This great apartment has the advantage of being right in the center of Barcelona's most famous landmark - Las Ramblas. Comfortably accommodating 4 people, you will literally find everything that you need right on your doorstep.
The area surrounding the apartment:
The Ramblas Penthouse apartment is located on undoubtedly the most cosmopolitan street of Barcelona, with the greatest diversity of people, passers-by, shoppers, tourists, civil servants, big shots, comedians, street musicians and night-birds. Just off La Rambla and close by the apartment, you'll find one of Europe's oldest (indoor) markets: 'El mercat de la Boqueria'. In this typically Spanish setting, you'll find locals as well as tourists looking for queso (cheese), serrano (ham) or aceitunas (olives) and the further in you get the more you feel the old Roman marketplace which used to exist back in the day. Venture further in and you´ll be amazed at the wonderfully varied fish market with colourful jovial women serving behind the counter. The metro stop Liceu is within walking distance from the apartment and one of the leading opera lyric houses in Europe the famous Gran Teatre del Liceu is opposite.
The apartment:
The Ramblas Penthouse apartment is part of an emblematic and beautiful building - typical of the architecture of the beginning of the century - that has been completely and lovingly restored.
This fantastic duplex has the living areas and terrace on the upper level which is flooded with sunlight from the floor to ceiling windows. Here you can relax in front of the TV or comfortably sit at the dining table and enjoy some typical Spanish tapas.
The fully equipped kitchen is open plan in design and next to the dining area.
From the living area you have direct access to the amazing roof terrace which gives you some of the best views over Barcelona. On the terrace you will find a beautiful historical 'chapel' which has been restored and converted into a very comfortable 'chill-out' area.
The two bedrooms and bathroom are on the lower level. The master bedroom has a double bed and the second bedroom has two single beds. Both bedrooms have wardrobe space for all of your belongings. There is also a single sofa-bed in the master bedroom which can be used for a fifth guest. The bedrooms, like the living area have large windows allowing the sunlight to stream in.
The bathroom is also on the lower level and comes complete with a large walk-in shower. Fresh towels are provided for use on arrival.

Las Ramblas
Undoubtedly the most cosmopolitan street in Barcelona with the greatest diversity of people, passers-by, shoppers, tourists, civil servants, big shots, comedians, street performers and musicians with a healthy night-life.….
This area in an absolute must for any visitor to Barcelona, although it can be slightly claustrophobic due to its popularity it should definitely be visited at least once, (it is wise to mention that pick pockets are common in this area, so be careful with handbags, wallets and purses!!….) the wonderful and very famous La Boqueria market can be found halfway down La Rambla on the right hand side… In the most wonderful setting one could imagine there are locals and tourists alike looking for all kinds of produce, cheese, ham, olives and the fish market alone is incredible…
On the left hand side, on the corner of Calle Portaferissa is the fountain; colourful tiles by the fountain depict the spot that used to be the city’s old gateway, Portaferissa actually means “iron gate”…..
Another wonderful landmark on this great Rambla is theGran Teatre del Liceu, one of the leading opera lyric houses in Europe….
The many terraces, souvenir shops, stores and many stalls make La Rambla a unique experience and to this day La Rambla remains one of Barcelona’s essential attractions…
