A modern apartment in Diagonal Mar with great city views!!!!
This lovely apartment is in an area called Diagonal Mar located to the northeast of the old city about an 8 minute metro ride from the Gothic area. Also located here is one of Barcelona's largest convention centres, created especially for the Forum 2004 project...
The area surrounding the apartment:
The Nouvel I apartment is located about 10 mintues metro ride from Barcelona's old city centre. This area is relatively new and they have done a superb job, from the high quality finishes used in the construction to the surrounding areas, where you can find many local cafe/restaurants and bars and parks....
The area has a fresh and welcoming feel to it and with the excellent metro system the old part of town is extremely accessible, you are never far from the hustle and bustle of downtown Barcelona....
The building where the Nouvel I apartment is located, has recently been completed and is has a very modern look and feel. The communal grounds, which include a private garden for the use of the residents, is a great feature and is kept in great condition.....
The beaches is about a 15-20 min walk from the apartment, they are really great beaches and a wonderful option on really hot summer days!!!!
Also, there is a brand new, large commercial centre at a 10 minute walk from your front door so everything you could possibly need is on hand.
The Apartment:
The Nouvel I apartment is located in a brand new modern building. This apartment has a long balcony leading out from the living room and one of the bedrooms, which looks onto the main street, called Diagonal and accross the city... it is a fantastic apartment divided into two levels...
The apartment can accommodate up to 8 people with a double bed in the master bedroom, which also comes with a built in wardrobe where the guests can keep their belongings ..... the second and third bedrooms have two single beds and the fourth bedroom also comes with single beds - one stored under the other...
The Nouvel I apartment has two modern and stylish bathrooms, with a lovely bath/shower unit, WC, sink, etc, fresh towels are provided... it also has a seperate guest toilet... This apartment has plenty of natural light coming through the large wall to wall windows that lead out onto the balcony ...
The Nouvel I apartment has all the regular entertainment center gadgets like TV and DVD along with washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, central heating, air conditioning, etc....
The dining table is accommodated in the living/dining room with seating for guests; the living room allows for great relaxation time .....
The kitchen is very modern and fully equipped with all the modern conveniences mentioned above, to ensure your break in Barcelona is a completely hassle free one.
Everything you could need to prepare a meal is provided....

Diagonal Mar
Diagonal Mar has also been transformed from an industrial wasteland into the newest neighbourhood in Barcelona; it’s main claim to fame is the six month multicultural event that took place in 2004, referred to as the Forum.. Thanks to this event this area was built up from scratch and now boasts of tall and imposing residential buildings, of large conference halls, venues and hotels which attract potential business to the city. The many residential buildings in this area have a hefty price tag with many enjoying front line sea views and large spacious terraces… The man made beaches are great and during the summer months are enjoyed by locals and tourists alike… At the heart of this huge development project is the Edifici Fòrum, created by Herzog and de Meuron; this building is very imposing, triangular in shape and a striking blue colour…
One of the features of this area is the Diagonal Mar Park, modern and angular in appearance it is not everyone’s taste however, is a popular spot on the weekend; across the road from this park is the large commercial centre known as the CENTRO DIAGONAL MAR …

Das Appartement hat uns allen rundum gefallen. Die Lage ist sehr gut, die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel gut zu erreichen und der Blick über Barcelona traumhaft, vor allem nachts. Die ganze Organisation hat sehr gut geklappt, wir würden wieder über friendly rentals buchen.

the location of the apartment was very good, adjacent to a tram stop and close to the beach. The attentiveness of the receptionist on arrival - we had the unfortunate luck of having a wallet stolen on the train from the airport and she helped by allowing us to contact banks. etc to cancel cards.
