The area surrounding the apartment;
The Jacob apartment is ideally situated in an area called Poble Sec, the guests can walk to La Rambla in about 12-15 min or find themselves literraly 5 mins from the FIRA conference centre.... the metro Poble Sec is practically on your doorstep for any jaunts that might be too far to walk to...
The area is a quiet spot from which to plan out your daily jaunts and ideal for relaxing in after a hard day of sight seeing or shopping... It is situated in Poble Sec, at the foot of Montjuic - a beautiful park area of woodland with meandering paths and fountains, containing the Miro museum, the National Art Museum of Catalunya, the Greek theatre, the castle… The incredible Sant Antoni food market and the Port are within easy walking distance and the driving route to the Airport couldn’t be simpler.
The apartment;
The Jacob apartment is a comfortalbe, high quality apartment that can sleep anywhere from 2 to 6 people at a time;
The master bedroom come with a double bed and has an en-suite bathroom with a great shower; the second bedroom has bunk beds for two of the guests; one of the two reception rooms has a luxurious sofa-bed (this area also has the LCD TV and DVD player).
A bright study with large windows from one side to another and a washing machine room lie just beyond. The other, more formal reception room has an elegant marble dining table and Venetian chandeliers, and two double French windows overlooking a tranquil, tree-lined square.
The kitchen is fully equipped with quality appliances and marble work-surface; the main bathroom has a cast-iron bathtub, bidet and W/C.
A cast spiral staircase leads from the hallway up to the fantastic 36m2 roof-terrace which has been filled with an abundance of plants making this an ideal spot for sun-lounging or outdoor dining.

Poble Sec/Montjuic
Poble Sec has always been a traditional kind of “barrio”; residential mainly, it is a very pleasant and friendly area of the city, with plenty of plazas and leafy streets and a good combination of local traditional bars, cafes and restaurants as well as modern and new restaurants.. The local industrial heritage consists of three tall chimneys known as La Canadença, and the surrounding area is a large open space popular amongst skateboarders and Pakistani expat cricketers; part of this area is the well known Avenida Parallel, known many years ago as the centre of Barcelona’s nightlife it was full of theatres, nightclubs and music halls; today there are only a few cinemas and theatres on the avenida…Avenida Parallel will lead the visitor directly to La Rambla and the port of Barcelona, both central hightlights of this great city… in the opposite direction the visitor can make their way to the FIRA conference centre and Gran Via….
Montjuic is a wonderful spot to spend a day strolling around the many gardens, museums and galleries with majestic views of the city; the area is home to various 1992 Olympic game venues such as Calatrava’s Olumpic needle on the landward side, the enormous cemetery and lighthouse can be found on the other side…
The solid, fortified “Castell de Montjuïc” looks over the entire city, and dates from the 18th century…. Bombardments and executions, most notably’s Luis Company’s the president of the Generalitat de Cataluña took place here… Formally ceded to the City of Barcelona in 2004 it now houses the Museu Militar and various other museums… as it’s location is 173m up it makes a great place from which to enjoy the city view as well as the view on the way up should the visitor choose to take the Montjuic cable car that leaves from Avenida Marimar

It was a spacious, quiet, clean, attractive and well-equipped apartment, just as described, and very close to food shopping. The location was okay, with some nice things nearby (Montjuic)and a good subway stop, although having got to know Barcelona (a fabulous city), I think we would now choose a more central area.

We were in the Jacob Apartment on Radas in the Poble Sec/Montjuic area. We liked the neighborhood atmosphere and convenience of the location. The apartment is spacious and the kitchen is well-equipped. We cooked all of our meals in the apartment. The design of the apartment is charming and the roof terrace an added plus. The views are amazing. We had some difficulty with getting the washer, dishwasher and internet to work, but a representative of Friendly Rentals responded promptly and remedied the situation. The problem was more of our lack of familiarity with Spanish appliances than any malfunctioning of the devices. The toaster died, but was quickly replaced. We arrived early on a cruise ship and were allowed access to the apartment before the official 3 p.m. check in time. That was very much appreciated. Overall, we were very impressed and pleased with our experience.

We loved the apartment. It was bright, clean, tastfully furnished. A great location for walking, restaurants, shops, touring. Great size for a family. We could spread out with two sepatate living spaces. Beautiful roof top patio but it was too hot to use in August.
