Modern apartment in a great location

This luxurious and newly renovated apartment is a great choice for your visit to Barcelona. The open plan style apartment has a modern and very stylish look and feel to it. The hardwood floor and the mix of colour from the paintings throughout the apartment lend to a warm and welcoming atmosphere. A holiday stay in this exclusive accommodation is one not to be missed.

The area surrounding the apartment:

The Nápoles I apartment is situated a 10 minutes' walk from the "old city". The area is residential and very pleasant with most sights within easy walking distance. The Ronda San Pere begins approximately two blocks from the apartment and takes you right to Plaça Catalunya, the nerve centre of the city. From here you can access the beginning of La Rambla which is a definite must for the visitor to Barcelona: the street performers, outdoor cafés and the famous La Boqueria food market really should not be missed. Near Plaça Catalunya you will aslo find the famous Gothic Quarter and the very trendy El Borne area; the Gothic Quarter contains a concentration of medieval Gothic buildings only a few blocks northeast of Las Ramblas. It is a maze of interconnecting dark streets linking with squares, and there are plenty of cafés and bars. The Paseo del Born in El Borne is 50 meters from the amazing gothic church of Santa Maria del Mar, the Picasso Museum, the Cathedral and the port.

The apartment:

The Nápoles I apartment building has been renovated and finished to the highest standards making it a great place to stay. The apartment is open plan and the space has been maximized to its full potential. The main sleeping area is to one side and holds a double bed and has wardrobe space for the guests belongings.
The living area comprises of two sofas, one that doubles as a bed for the third and fourth guests. This area also comes with a TV, DVD and Stereo so the guest can sit back and relax after a hard days sightseeing or shopping. The apartment also comes with internet, AC and heating to ensure the guests' comfort at all times.

The kitchen has a sleek and modern look and comes equipped with up to the minute mod cons making sure you have everything you need during your stay in this apartment.

There is one and a half bathrooms and both are modern in look; one comes with a bath and shower unit, toilet and sink, and the other bathroom has a toilet and sink unit only. Towels are of course provided and are ready for your use upon arrival.

A great advantage of this apartment is that the building comes with elevator which is quite unusual for this part of town.

If you were to choose this apartment for your holiday in Barcelona, you would not be disappointed!

Eixample (right)

Eixample (right)

Barcelona´s 19th century Eixample district is the birthplace of the Modernism movement where Antoni Gaudi is considered the leader. When looking to experience Barcelona´s world renowned reputation for leading 19th century architecture, this area is king. With all the Gaudi sites within reach like the grand and impressive famous Sagrada familia, the two famous Gaudi houses of La Perdera and Manzana de la Discordia, the sprawling Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, you´ll spend hours rambling along and looking upwards.  This grid-patterned area was created in the 19th century to accommodate the overflowing population from old Barcelona; luckily this coincided with Barcelona’s golden age of architecture.. Gaudí, Puig I Cadafalch, Domènech I Montaner were employed by the wealthy to build townhouses, each one more daring than the last…

The Eixample district is divided in two, the Eixample Dreta (right side) and Eixample Esquerra (left side), this divide is marked by Passeig de Gracia, a highly sophisticated shopping street…..

A large part of the Eixample’s attraction includes all the shops, restaurants, cafes and bars to be found… Passeig de Gracias alone will keep any visitor entertained for hours, but all the side streets are full of great stores, theatres, cafes with people everywhere, shopping, relaxing and enjoying an aperitif with friends and family…

EIXAMPLE DRETA (RIGHT)

This area of the Eixample came first and is full of fabulous Modernista works, such as Gaudí’s Casa Batlló, Puig I Cadafalch’s Casa Amatller and  Domènech i Muntaner`s Lleó Morera famously referred to as the Manzana de la Discordia…..

To the east of the city centre we can find another massive, towering example of Gaudí’s creativity, the Sagrada Familia; still under construction and will most likely continue to be so for a long time to come … it is full of symbolism and meaning. This amazing creation never disappoints as visitors to Barcelona are awed by it’s imagery and beauty time and time again….

One building which also warrants a mention is the Hospital de Sant Pau, still a functioning hospital to this day and it is probably the most complex example of Modernist architecture….

The Eixmaple dreta is rife with museums such as Fundavió Antoni Tàpies, Museo Egipci de Barcelona and the Fundació Francisco Goddia;

Other buildings of interest include the Palau Macaya, the tiled Mercat de la Concepció, the egg-topped Plaçá de Braus Monumantal and Barcelona’s last active bullring ….

Lovely spacious studio, good bathroom and I have to say the shower was the best over-bath shower I have experienced in 30 years' of visiting Spain. Wonderful works of art on the walls. Too many useless arty things lying around on every surface, but some people might like that. Lovely big 'fridge and good coffee-maker and - wow - a kettle! Anne, United Kingdom 27 April 2012
