A cozy and newly renovated apartment near Plaza de España and Trade Fair at Montjuic.
This is a lovely bright studio style apartment on the first floor of a modernist building - without elevator... It's location makes a great base from which to explore the wonderful sights and shopping of Barcelona.
The area surrounding the apartment:
Close to the Calabria II apartment is the convention centre of Fira de Montjuïc and Plaza de España. From here you are just at the feet of the Montjuïc mountain where various sightseeing attractions are located, like Poble Espanyol, the Olympic stadium and swimming pools. There is also the National Museum of Catalunya where on weekend nights the guest can watch the famous fountains work!!
The guest staying at the Calabria II apartment can access the city centre via metro which can be found right outside the building where the apartment is located. The metro will take you downtown in a matter of minutes so you can explore the Gothic Quarter, La Rambla, El Borne and so on.
As you can see, should you choose to stay at the Calabria II apartment during your visit to Barcelona, you will literaly find yourself in the heart of Barceona.
The apartment:
The Calabria II apartment has been recently renovated and the result is a combination of modern while retaining many charming features such as the very high ceilings and the wonderful exposed wooden beams which is typical in catalonian homes.
The kitchen, bedroom -which contains a double bed- and living room are all housed in the same large room. There is a second double bed is above the kitchen with access via a ladder and a double sofa bed in the living area. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE AREA WHERE THE BEDS ARE IS NOT PRIVATE. Although advertised as a studio, this apartment has a small single bedroom if one of the guests wishes a little more privacy. The entire apartment is designed tastefully with parquet wood flooring and simple clean lines. It is a lovely are to relax with a bottle of spanish wine after a hard days sightseeing...
The kitchen has been newly installed and is fully equipped with vitroceramic counter tops, and all the commonplace items like microwave, fridge, pots, pans, coffee machine, fridge etc. The bathroom comprises of a shower unit, washbasin and toilet...
The whole apartment is fitted with air conditioning (hot/cold) and guests can be entertained by the TV which has satellite programmes and DVD provided. All linens and towels are provided as well as an iron and ironing board.
