A cozy and newly renovated apartment near Plaza de España and Trade Fair at Montjuic.
This is a lovely studio style apartment on the first floor of a modernist building - without elevator... It's location makes a great base from which to explore the wonderful sights and shopping of Barcelona.
The area surrounding the apartment:
Close to the Calabria II apartment is the convention centre of Fira de Montjuïc and Plaza de España. From here you are just at the feet of the Montjuïc mountain where various sightseeing attractions are located, like Poble Espanyol, the Olympic stadium and swimming pools. There is also the National Museum of Catalunya where on weekend nights the guest can watch the famous fountains work!!
The guest staying at the Calabria II apartment can access the city centre via metro which can be found right outside the building where the apartment is located. The metro will take you downtown in a matter of minutes so you can explore the Gothic Quarter, La Rambla, El Borne and so on.
As you can see, should you choose to stay at the Calabria II apartment during your visit to Barcelona, you will literaly find yourself in the heart of Barceona.
The apartment:
The Calabria II apartment has been recently renovated and the result is a combination of modern while retaining many charming features such as the very high ceilings and the wonderful exposed wooden beams which is typical in catalonian homes.
The kitchen, bedroom -which contains a double bed- and living room are all housed in the same large room. There is a second double bed is above the kitchen with access via a ladder and a double sofa bed in the living area. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE AREA WHERE THE BEDS ARE IS NOT PRIVATE. Although advertised as a studio, this apartment has a small single bedroom if one of the guests wishes a little more privacy. The entire apartment is designed tastefully with parquet wood flooring and simple clean lines. It is a lovely are to relax with a bottle of spanish wine after a hard days sightseeing...
The kitchen has been newly installed and is fully equipped with vitroceramic counter tops, and all the commonplace items like microwave, fridge, pots, pans, coffee machine, fridge etc. The bathroom comprises of a shower unit, washbasin and toilet...
The whole apartment is fitted with air conditioning (hot/cold) and guests can be entertained by the TV which has satellite programmes and DVD provided. All linens and towels are provided as well as an iron and ironing board.

The apartment is close to cafes/bars, a supermarket, a metro station, bus stations,Placa Espanya with its Aerobusstation...one can do a walk to the barri gotic,to el Raval, to Mount Juic. It´s not too noisy, one just hears people from the other apartments when windows are open.

Le quartier pas trop touristique, la terrasse avec les balcons au-dessus avec les linges suspendus, très typique. Le monsieur qui habite l'immeuble avec une béquille qui est d'une extrême gentillesse qui nous a aidé à ouvrir la porte. La tranquillité de l'endroit. Merci de nous avoir permis de passer un super bon moment à Barcelone.

The location of the apartment, close to rail and other amenities, and a nice walk to La Ramblas and Port. The check-in person at the office was very friendly and helpful, and also Elaine with our email communications prior to arriving in Barcelona.

I stayed with my mum 3 nights in August at Calabria II and we couldn't be happier! At the agency we got our keys and a folder with all sort of useful information regarding the flat and the city. The agency was easy to find, and the stuff friendly through all the booking procedure. The flat is very very central located, just 10 minutes walk from the "Magic Fountain" so we could watch the fountain in the evening and then walk home. It's literally next to the metro station, less than 2 minutes away, but the windows point to the inner yard, so it's very quite for such a central location. The flat was clean, well equiped, plenty of clean towels. It was our first time ever in a rent appartment for holidays, and we decided it's a great experience, much more personal and comfortable than a hotel. You can't find any decent hotels so close to the city centre... All in one, would definetly recomend!
