A wonderful apartment in the very heart of Barcelona city....
This wonderful and colourfully renovated apartment is a great choice for your visit to Barcelona. Please note, this apartment is not suitable for children or older clients. The open plan apartment has been very tastefully decorated in an elegant and simple style, ensuring the comfort of the guest while at the same time creating a welcoming atmosphere. A holiday stay in this fantastic accommodation is one not to be missed.
The area surrounding the apartment:
The Mozart apartment is situated in the heart of the city, on the edge of el Borne which is the trendy and upbeat part of the Old Town in Barcelona and the guest staying at this great apartment can be browsing through the fabulous one off boutiques in this area or choosing from all the cafes, bars and restaurants in about 3 minutes. The Mozart apartment is a short 1 min walk from the newly renovated Santa Catarina market, which is very much worth a visit, in one direction and about a 7 minute walk to the Gothic quarter of Barcelona which is the oldest part of the city and from there another 2 minutes to the famous La Rambla. The Barrio Gótico contains a concentration of medieval Gothic buildings only a few blocks northeast of Las Ramblas. It is a maze of interconnecting dark streets linking with squares, and there are plenty of cafés and bars.
IT IS IMPORTANT TO NOTE; this area is an up and coming area and has seen great changes in the last couple of years and is improving all the time. A multi ethnic and colourful atmosphere with all the sights and attractions on your doorstep. The neighbourhood may not be for everyone as it is still perhaps not as polished as other neighbourhoods and as the area is continuing in its development, there is still some construction work going on nearby.
The apartment:
The Mozart apartment building has been renovated to strict rules and guidelines which conserves the facade of the ancient gothic quarter. The Mozart apartment itself is located on the first floor of this lovely building and is one of five apartments in the same building, Mozart I, II, III and IV. There is NO elevator in this building, as is quite common in the old part of Barcelona. With an open plan layout and some distinct characteristics such as original wooden beams in the ceiling which are typical in some of our lovely old Catalonian buildings, any guest can relax after a day of adventuring through the narrow cobbled stone lanes of the old town.
This great apartment has a communal roof terrace which the guests are welcome to use during their stay.....
The bedroom accommodates two single beds and comes with wardrobe and drawers where the guest can put his belongings. The decor is again simple and elegant with a a fresh, sharp look with touches of bright colour.
The living room area has a comfortable sofa, TV with USB and some satellite and radio channels and is a nice area to sit back in and enjoy some quiet time before heading out to the hustle and bustle of Barcelona
The kitchen has been newly installed and is fully equipped with vitroceramic counter tops, and all the commonplace items like fridge, microwave-oven, pots, pans, coffee machine, toaster and so on. The bathroom comprises of a large shower unit and is fresh and simple in look and comes with fresh towels for use upon arrival.
The whole apartment is fitted with air conditioning (hot/cold). All linens and towels are provided as well as an iron and ironing board.
The Mozart building comes with a great communal terrace which the guests are welcome to use during their visit...

El Born is one of the trendiest neighbourhoods in Barcelona and has become even more so over the last few years, combining a perfect balance between historical treasures, culture and “coolness”; an area very much sought after by the locals as well as the visitors. This area also boasts some of the highest property prices in the city …. This wonderful neighbourhood is full of many great bars, cafes, restaurants and is especially great for one of a kind boutiques as well as other, very well known clothing brands, such as Custo. The Born area is in such a great location, close to the Old Port and the beach, it’s surrounded by all the other cool and interesting places in Barcelona such as Barrio Gotico, Barceloneta, Old Port and Via Laietana. The Park Ciutadella is also a quick 5 minute walk from this area, perfect for a long stroll after a lovely lunch in one of the many terraces the Born has to offer.
A main feature of this great area is the wonderful basilica Santa Maria del Mar, right in front of this magnificent landmark, Barcelona’s guests can enjoy tapas and wine and watch the world go by…Other spots not to miss include Paseo del Born which is full of great bars and makes this area a lively night spot; not far from here is the Picasso museum….. The Born also has it’s own market, Santa Catarina with it’s funky, bright coloured roof. And finally not to be forgotten is the fantastic Palau de la Musica, which is possibly the most dazzling work of modernist architecture present in Barcelona….

The apartment was clean and located in a great spot - within walking distance to many restaurants, grocery stores, museums (Picasso, Xocholata, etc.) and the metro. The Gothic section was fascinating. Raquel and John at Friendly Rentals were efficient, helpful and friendly. John even walked us to the apartment.

The apartment is perfectly located. It is very clean. It has all the utensils one needs. Two pairs of keys were provided which made it very easy to split up for sightseeing according to individual interests. A well prepared basic information guide about the apartment was provided upon check-in which proved quite helpful. Overall it was a great place to stay.
